I recently ordered this sweater in Aquamarine for an upcoming trip to Scotland. The color is a gorgeous teal; exactly what I was hoping for. The cut is somewhat boxy and runs large making it perfect for layering. It's a nice weight too--not too light but not overly heavy. I ordered a 3X and could probably go down to a 2X, however, never ordering from LL Bean before I had no idea how their sizing runs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JennyBr Wonderful sweater!
So glad I decided to order this. I bought the beautiful dusty mauve, and I couldn't be happer with it. I was afraid it was going to be shorter than I like, but I'm 5'4" , 155 lbs, and the large hits at my lower hip. Fits perfectly, very comfortable, and warm! I would have to agree the the buttons are very awkward to use, but I almost never button my cardigans (in fact most of mine don't even have buttons) so not a problem for me. They are very pretty but too thin with this thicker guage sweater, in my opinion. Love this, but will try to fight the urge to buy another, as I already have quite a few cardigans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CrueltyFreeShopper Wonderful cardigan - will buy more
I have been replacing the clothes in my wardrobe that incorporate wool or other animal products with cruelty-free options, so I was in the market for several cardigans. I bought several different styles from LL Bean in different colors and fabrics, but this marled cotton cardigan in grey is my favourite of the group. I like the mid-hip length, the medium weight (warm, but not too warm) and the streamlined look. Best of all, the grey is a really lovely silvery-grey color, which works well with my skin tones (and increasingly grey hair). I find sometimes that grey/grey marl can be a a very dull colour, but this grey is a nice bright, clear grey (without being garish). I plan to buy a couple of other cardigans in this style in other colors to restock my wardrobe. The only minor quibble I have is that the buttons are a bit difficult to button and unbutton - it's not a problem for me, but if your fingers are stiff (e.g., arthritis), you might find it difficult to work the buttons. I just plan to leave it open most of the time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mary0 My favorite sweater
I have this sweater in the blue heather color. It is the prettiest sweater I've ever owned. I received compliments on it within 5 minute of leaving the house! I can wear it with navy or with silvery gray slacks and it looks great. My only complaint is that the the button hole placket has been pulled out of shape apparently when the button holes were put in, giving the sweater a look like it's too small, even before I took it out of the package. I've noticed this problem with sweaters from other companies too. I still love it and would buy another color if one were available.

Rated 4 out of 5 by KiminMD Nice Sweater but Watch Colors
Very heavy sweater with a lovely marled appearance. I wanted a soft pink, so I purchased blush pink. It looked pink on my computer and it says pink, but the sweater that arrived is nowhere near pink. It is a soft apricot/very pale orange. I need cool colors, so the apricot won't work for me. I'm sending it back, and unfortunately, they are out of the colors I want in my size. I'd buy this sweater in a minute if they had a soft blue/grey marl, medium blue they are out of or a true soft pink.

I got it for my wife. She doesn't like cheap, ugly buttons. I agree. They look awful. Because they're conspicuous, they ruin the entire appearance. So no matter how well the rest of the sweater might be, the whole effect is contaminated. Whether the sweater itself is okay, no comment because she's not the least bit interested if the buttons are so bad. Anyhow, she really had no choice but to have me mail it back.

This year I ordered the new blush pink which is a
beautiful, soft color. Love it!! I already own at least 4
of these same sweaters in other colors. I even have
a darker pink from another year. It fits true to size.
I'm an XL and "some" of Bean's XL sweaters seem to
run small.. This one fits so well and can even be used
as a jacket.

(Review for marled cotton cardigan, blush pink). This sweater is truly a year-round, Class A favorite. Fabric is slightly heavier than standard cotton sweaters. It's style is such that in warmer weather it can double as a jacket. I am 5'9" medium build and weigh about 148 lbs. I purchased the large, which was a great fit either over a blouse or a tee top. The blush pink is pretty and soft and very complementary to even an old face like mine! :-). This is a sweater which doesn't disappoint.

I received this today in the lilac color, both in small and x-small. Very pretty color, but the sizing is off. I'm tall (5'8") and thin and the sweater's length is 2 1/2-3 inches shorter than the marled cardigan I bought a year or two ago. The small size never seems quite small enough, either.
Other sweaters I ordered recently from LLBean were also too short and too wide. This one is going back.
