The L.L.Bean Bootmobile

Rated highest smiles per gallon

The original L.L.Bean Boot was designed to help people enjoy the outdoors – and our larger-than-life mobile replica was too. The Bootmobile has covered more than 160,000 miles, appeared at hundreds of events in 14 states and dozen college campuses, and made tracks to every L.L.Bean store.

What's more fun than the Bootmobile? Two Bootmobiles!

The original Bootmobile was so popular, it needed a sidekick. So, we built a second. It's a bit smaller, lighter and greener—the engine is biodiesel compatible. An interactive entertainment system adds to the fun. Now we have a fleet of big feet, revving up for a season of special events near and far.

Our popular Bootmobile needed a sidekick. This one is a bit smaller, lighter and greener, with a biodiesel-compatible engine.

Behind the wheel

An interview with Bootmobile Driver, L.L.Bean ambassador, and outdoorsman Eddie Flaherty

Known to his coworkers as “Eddie of the Woods,” Eddie Flaherty is more than just gifted at driving the 13-foot Bootmobile. This Registered Maine Guide leads whitewater rafting adventures, is an avid fly fisherman, and plans on playing semi-pro football when he's not on the road.

We thought it would be great to catch up with Eddie and learn what it's like behind the wheel.
