Rated 3 out of 5 by Minette26 Very strange fit
I thought these pants were exactly what I needed for cross-country skiing -- lightweight, water- and wind-resistant, stretchy, slim fitting but not tight. And from the knees down they seemed perfect, but unfortunately they were so tight in the seat and waist that I could barely move my legs. Worn alone, they might just have worked, but I felt like a stuffed sausage when I added very lightweight silk long underwear.
I ordered a medium, even though the length would have been better in a small (I'm 5'4", 130lbs), because the reviews indicated they ran small. But I don't think the problem was with the size -- there is just something out of proportion about these pants.
I returned them and ordered the Sporthill pants instead.

I bought my daughter a medium based on the same pair I got her older sister three years ago, and they fit completely different. My size 4 daughter could just get these pants on and definitely did not feel she could layer under or move comfortably for nordic. They are going back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by OutdoorMama1 Unflattering pants
I was very excited to get these pants in the mail to use for cross country skiing and skate skiing in the Upper Northwest. I have tried so many pants and just can't seem to find the right material and fit. So I keep skiing in my lycra biking tights! These pants are rough in texture and making swishing sounds when you walk. The material in the back of the pant was way too thin to keep you warm. Just not a comfortable fit They were also a very unflattering. I consider myself to have an athletic build, but I would not wear these out of the house. I returned them promptly. Bummer! back to my search of the perfect xc ski pant.

I use these for cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and hiking. This is my second pair. I have had my first pair for 4 years, wear them a lot and they are still in fantastic condition. I wanted a second pair for when the other pair is in the wash. They are comfortable, durable and versatile. Wish I could wear them to work.

I ordered the Swix pants in a large-I am a size 8. A medium would have fit probably perfect. I wore them out for walk 23 degree day with slight wind. I found them to not be as warm as I would have liked. The length was good, I did not like the elastic band at the ankle. Over all I decided to keep the pant, wear layers to take up the space. Thank you L.L.Bean for standing behing your products.

Rated 3 out of 5 by lgcnm Nice quality...fit is snug
I liked the quality and style of these pants. I had hoped to use them for cross country skiing. Sadly they were uncomfortably tight in the knees and thighs. (I bought my usual women's XL size).
I knew I would not be able to wear even a light thermal layer underneath them, so I had to return them. If they weren't so snug, I would have loved to have kept them.

Great pants for country skiing, stayed very warm with just a light layer under.
Looking forward to the extreme temps of West Yellowstone with these pants!

Rated 5 out of 5 by nzwatsons Perfect fit, right weight for xc skiing
I am a size 8 but muscular ("sturdy" according to the m-i-l). These pants fit very well and are very flattering to my shape. I love the weather protection in the front and breathability in the back. Will quickly become favorites for cross country skiing and also for winter runs on windy days...

I bought these pants for my daughter when she started skiing on the Nordic team this winder. She loves them! They keep her warm and dry and are breathable. I just bought myself a pair last week and have been walking and cross country skiing in them and they are very comfy. We are thinking of buying a pair for my husband now!
