Rated 4 out of 5 by ComfyinFL Very good shorts
I too have bought several pairs of these shorts. I like the way they fit and the comfort waist feature. My one complaint is that the area around the rear pocket wears through where my wallet fits. This usually happens with in a year or so. I spend a lot of time driving so I guess the shorts rub between the seat of the car and the wallet. Other than that they are very comfortable.

I bought these shorts in the Marine Blue color for my husband. He says they are very comfortable, but when he sits down and the hidden comfort waist stretches, the white pocket linings pop out like little flags. I'll be exchanging the Marine Blue pair for one in light khaki, to reduce the contrast between the shorts and the linings.

The cancellation of the Light Khaki color was a mistake. The Khaki available now is too dark. Also, your shirt selection has become very unexciting. The check and plaids are no longer available and what is now being offered is blah.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chazmanian Finally, a new color - yellow!
These are the best wrinkle free, most comfortable shorts on the market. I have every color and am looking for new colors. The yellow goes well with so many of Bean's LL polo shirts. Kelly green, red, brown (not khaki), medium blue, orange, etc., would be great additions!

The color in the Khaki has changed over the years. The best color that was ever made was the "UPS" Brown Khaki. It went with everything. The color now has a orange tinge in it. Why don't they stay with the men's classics rather than trying to throw in weird colors.

by FredandSnow Impractical
I bought my husband these shorts because he likes short inseams and pleats in his khakis, and because they are not the style, I can't find them anywhere. I was excited to see them on LL Bean. However, the front pockets are not angled like you see in the picture. The openings are exactly vertical and flush with the side seams. My husband like to use his front pockets, but these are not user-friendly at all--they are very awkward to try to access. They should change the picture to match the product. Also, there is not enough width in the legs of the shorts, so when he walks, the top of the short catches on his quadriceps, which inhibits natural and comfortable walking. The only good thing I can say about the shorts is that they are wrinkle free and look nicer than his old crummy ones. These shorts are way too expensive for how impractical they are. Sadly, I continue my hunt for pleated short khakis. :-(

Rated 3 out of 5 by DaveB48 I Can't Buy Them If They Are Out of Stock
I bought four pairs of these shorts several years ago, and have gotten very good wear from them, so I wanted to buy a few more pairs. Here it is just July 1, and the dark khaki and the dusty olive are out of stock in waist size 38. For the plain front shorts, it's even worse, with most sizes out of stock for the more popular colors. Come on, LLBean, you can do better! In Maine, shorts may be a seasonal item, but in much of the country, they are worn year-round.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Schatje Holds Up Better Than All the Others
One year ago I ordered 7 different pairs of shorts from 4 different companies, and these are the only ones that still look great and show little wear. My husband wears shorts to work every day and has a physically demanding job. His weight also fluctuates by 5-10 lbs throughout the year, so the hidden "comfort waist" stays comfortable no matter where his weight is. Just ordered 6 more pairs of these and will not be ordering any other work shorts from any other companies. These are THE ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GoodShortsShopper Runs out of Stock: Bring Back Sage Green
Like many, I live in a climate that permits shorts all year long, and I love the way these shorts fit. 8" is the perfect length and the pleated is a must! The problem is L.L. Bean's lack of stock when Winter approaches..stock dwindles to none. Please, L.L. Bean, stock these year round and please bring back the Sage Green!

How do they make "100% cotton" feel like 1970s polyester?
These are rough and heavy even after two washings.
