Rated 5 out of 5 by SanFranTourist Quality and confort - excellent
My size was out recently and after purchasing two about 6 months ago, I became a fan of this t-shirt. Absolutely 5 star.
It was worth the wait.

Rated 3 out of 5 by PugetSoundFella A mixed bag for me
I see the current version (mid-2015) of this long-time favorite as 3 1/2 stars, but I'll round to 3 stars.
I'm not a fan of the sleeve length - it's too baggy and long, practically to my elbow. On the other hand, I do like the neckline - slightly higher and neater than many other tees, without the sloppy "scoop neck" effect that many cheap shirts have.
Aside from the above matters of personal preference, the much-maligned no-stain treatment, coupled with the relatively thick (i.e., high quality) material, makes for a rather uncomfortably hot shirt during warmer months. It doesn't breathe very well at all, and I've learned not to wear it alone in very hot weather or as springtime or summer layering piece. The build quality is otherwise pretty good and sturdy, as one would expect from LL Bean.
I'd like to see more colors available.

Rated 2 out of 5 by RLRinMA stain resist treatment yields not so comfy shirt
These shirts appear to be very well made, feel soft to the touch and fit nicely, except for being a little too tight in the neck. I have to agree, however, with other reviewers who have commented that they are not as comfortable as they could/should be, as a result of the treatment that is used to give these shirts their stain resistant characteristics. Even after washing, the shirts don't breath like an untreated T and they repel water--it literally bounces off of the surface of the fabric. I feel the results when wearing these shirts on warm days. Because perspiration, like water, is repelled by the fabric, sweat beads up on my skin under the fabric, rather then being wicked away by the cotton fibers. Not pleasant! I may be able to live with these shirts during the cooler months of the year, but I'll shelve them during the summer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by TomNYC NECK WAY TOO TIGHT
I have a few of these and would buy more except for the ill fitting neck. Shirts really require breaking in. Lots of pulling and stretching of the neck and washings before they stop pinching. They are tight out of the bag and tend to stay tight even when washed in cold water. And I do not have a particularly thick neck. Most other comparable T-shirts have a neck that's not so high and not so tight. Colors are frequently interesting but recently red choices are not so good. Bring back Mountain Red which works with everything. More color choices please and please fix the neck

Rated 1 out of 5 by LeeDB stain resistance
These tee shirts are well made, feel good, are a good price and come in great colors. However, being tee shirts not dress shirts you may find yourself sweating while wearing them. You saw that they are stain resistant when you bought them and you thought that really doesn?t matter, they are tee shirts. But being stain resistant they resist ?water?, be it a rain shower, a sloppy drink of coffee, or sweat. Yes, they resist from the inside too. All the sweat just sits on the inside of the tee shirt. After taking a hike you will find that the inside of the tee shirt feels ?soaked?, but the sweat is not absorbed like a cotton tee shirt should. You can?t wait to take the shirt off. When this shirt is sold without the additional features I will be back buying it. I am returning all 3 shirts.

by Newk Sagging Necklines
I buy three or 4 of these T-shirts almost every year. The last year or so the ones I have bought have ended up with sagging out of shape necklines after 3-4 washings It is like the neckline material will not hold its shape. Something changed in the last year or two because I never had the problem before. See pictures for examples.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Paulross Argh! best t shirt ever ruined :(
What is this weird coating they're putting on the t-shirts? What was once the best t-shirt around is now this god awful thing that if it gets wet it stays wet, but does not absorb, so it becomes this gross thing with sweat pooling up on the surface. Who thought this was a good idea?

Rated 1 out of 5 by LoyalShopper1111 Chemically Treated Non-Absorbant Cotton Tees
I bought these to replace the same t-shirts I had bought about 3-4 years ago. Those were great - cotton and very breathable (and untreated). When they wore out I bought these new "unshrinkable" tees. Very disappointed. They are treated with some kind of chemical that doesn't allow moisture or perspiration to be absorbed. It feels like wearing plastic. Any moisture or perspiration isn't wicked away or absorbed. It's even hard to get the t-shirt actually wet. Not good for hot humid summer days. The nice cotton and overall great shirt has been ruined by the chemical treatment. I wish they would offer this identical t-shirt without the chemical processing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BobC5 A geat t shirt
Was reluctantly forced to replace some t shirts from another company but no longer available. I ordered 3 of these and once I tried them on, I ordered another 3. These are very comfortable. The cotton is very soft!!! Unlike some cotton that is stiff, this is just the opposite. Some reviews did recommend going with the next larger size, so I did that. I ordered Large and it is working out perfectly. The sleeves come down to my elbow, thus hiding my bulging biceps. lol
I do usually purchase a medium for my 5'7" frame. Come out of the washer and dryer good.

Rated 2 out of 5 by WestintheEast Don't Count on White meaning White
My shirt is a light tan, nothing like the white shirt I ordered. Not returning though, but stay away from "white" if you are looking for a white tee. Also, this tee seems more baggy (M) than other colors of this same shirt that I have purchased. I see other complaints about this color.
