Rated 2 out of 5 by LLBeanGuy123 Not as good as the old overland pants/small pocket
I bought one of these and they are ok. The main problem for me is that the side zip pocket has a very narrow opening. It is very hard to get my wallet or keys in and out. I much prefer the old Overland pants which had a much wider opening. Please bring the Overland pants back LL Bean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Canoenahanni Great for warm dry safari
These pants were very comfortable and easy to wash for the warm and dusty weather we just experienced on a safari. They were practicle with the zip off bottom as I did not need to pack shorts saving weight and space which is important on a safari. The only issue I had with the pants is that the inseam of 30" which is what I need was more like 32" or 33" (even after washing in hot water) requireing to be shortened.
I will be ordering an additional pair.

LL Bean tries to cover too many waist sizes with the small, medium, large and x-large sizing. I'm normally a 33' so I started with a medium. The medium was too large and the cut of the pant leggs reminded me of clown pants. So I tried a small. Pant leggs were not as baggy, but waist size was too small.

I took a camping-fishing-hiking break in the high Sierras last week in these., lived in them for three days. Hurray for the gusset for, uh, comfort, for the cut for walking and for stepping up rocky pitches all day, for the cloth for shedding fish slime easily with a baby-wipe, for the "briar" color for hiding the dirt, for the ring snap and zipper pocket for just in case, and the big back pockets for padding the hard granite a nice tiny bit.
Lots of nylon zip-offs on the trail now, but not like these.

Rated 5 out of 5 I love these pants.
I love them for casual wear. I love them for cruising. I love them for hiking. I love them for touring.
I may be ignorant of other pants of the same or better quality out there, but since around 2005, the Timberledge pants have gotten the job done in Italy, Texas, and now the UK.
For me, they have a comfortable fit on the waist and hips and lots of room in the legs. I find myself using the zip-off legs much more in the UK summer where mornings are chilly, but afternoons warm. In rainy weather, I cinch up the cuff a bit for regular street walking, through the woods, or on the beach. I feel the number of pockets and their positioning is great and make good use of the security pocket. I've only had one pair of the past seven years that had a fault: the security key hook stitching came off and failed to keep the hook in my pocket.
I'd recommend these if you're looking for a comfortable, light weight, sport or casual pants/shorts conversion option.

Should had heeded the reviews that said these pants ran long. My inseam is 30", the pants are 33/34".
Also the fabric is lightweight (what I wanted), but the construction of the elastic waist band and the snaps on the ankle snap area make them much heavier than my other convertable . My purpose was to have these as an extra pair of pants in my back pack, the additional weight however, won't do.
The pants are well made, however I have to return them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by LDRider Okay, But Execution Could Be Better
I have two pairs of these pants, one in each color. I have worn them as casual pants, hiking pants and underneath armored motorcycle pants in hot weather. The material is durable, comfortable and quick drying. I like the pockets, including the zippered "hidden" pocket, and the key ring clip. The legs are easy to unzip and remove, and the side zippers allow them to slide off over shoes fairly easily.
Unfortunately, I have a few complaints as well. First, the legs are sometimes difficult to attach. It can be tricky to get the zippers to align correctly. On both pairs of pants, I can sometimes feel the zipper digging into my thigh on the right leg... not sure why it's only on the right, but this can be uncomfortable after a while. Also, both pairs of pants had a TON of loose threads that had to be cut off, although they do seem durable and this did not effect their performance.
Overall, a nice product that doesn't quite feel like a $60 product.

PhillyGuy247 Best Pants Ever
I wore these as I toured Europe these past three weeks, and they were warm when they needed to be warm and cool when I wanted them to be cool. The side zipper pocket is a great, if unintentional, anti-theft feature. I wore these pants with a nice shirt for dinner out and with t-shirts for catching the sights. I need more.
