Comfortable soft Tunic. I am a big fan of the LL Bean Pima Cotton
items, so this was going out of my comfort zone. Love the fabric and smooth feel with just a little extra warmth for the winter season. I like the fact that LL Bean is starting to offer some slightly fitted items. I bought this in an extra small, was really worried that it would be too tight, but it fits just right and is not too long. I am not a fan of vents, but they are small and not very obvious. The only thing I am not happy about is the color. I bought the "Orange Spice Heather" from the Picture in the Catalog. It is not as dark as shown in the catalog. The color reminds me of tomato soup after you added a little milk to it. However, I still feel the garment itself deserves five stars. Washes well, comes out looking like new and very smooth, no ironing needed.

I really like these tunics-just ordered two more. Mine have not shrunk, but I don't dry them more than 15 minutes on low in the dryer. Mostly, they hang dry.
The length is fantastic--they cover my hips without being ridiculously long. Very flattering!
I did have to order up 1 size on these to get the loose fit like the model in the picture. My size was more of a semi-fitted feel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TheCaptain Oh hey, I just love these things!
I generally go for the pima cotton boat neck, but I love this too. It is heavier and comes in some great colors. It seems pretty rugged, and I am not easy on my clothes. If the mood takes me, I'll run out and change the oil in boat - without changing. So then I get to use some serious 'elbow grease' (well, WD-40 and Dawn) to get the grease out of it and it stands up beautifully. No shrinking violet, this shirt!
It is also a bit longer than the pima cotton tops, although not as long as a true, 1960's type tunic, it works for me.
I want several in each color - before they stop making them!!

I love this shirt. It gets an A+ in all of my most important buying factors:
Comfort- the cotton is thick and soft, a cozy shirt
Durable- the thick cotton is sturdy and the shirt is well assembled
Flattering- It's a loose fit, but not too much, which makes for a perfect casual top
I highly recommend this shirt.

This is a cute top, but I ordered my normal size and it was huge. Definitely order a size down. The fabric and color was nice, although since I returned it due to the size I can't speak for how it washed.

... the sizing on this item has changed. I have several of these tops and I love them. However, I ordered another one this fall and was disappointed that the size I usually wear was significantly smaller than the ones I already have. Order one size up. And LLBean, please mention sizing changes in the descriptions on line and in catalogs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DavisGardener Shrinks a lot
I have the boat-neck T shirt in several colors, and while I loved the shirts when they were new, they have not held their size when washed. The sleeves have shrunk in length by 1-3/4" (measured against a brand-new shirt of the same style recently received as a gift). The length of the shirt body has is about 2" shorter. The fit is tighter overall, and the sleeves now are uncomfortably snug instead of comfortably loose. I wash the shirts as recommended, cold water & low dry, but my husband sometimes uses the default warm wash-warm dry settings so these shirts have been exposed to that as well on occasion.
Suggestions: Pre-shrink your cotton fabrics, LL Bean!
And offer this style - pre-shrunk of course - with long sleeves!
