Rated 5 out of 5 by bookee Christmas present
I haven't used the item yet as it will be for a family Christmas present this year. I rated it a 5 as I have always gotten great quality from LL Bean.

The Easter Bunny gave this popper to my daughter and we've enjoyed using it all summer long - both outside over the campfire and indoors over the gas stove.
It works great and makes super popcorn quickly.
I recommend using loose popcorn and oil, then season it as you like (tried the popcorn kits - don't like the artificial ingredients).

biobeanie So Much Fun and Good Popcorn Too!
We used this the first time in Yellowstone to celebrate someone's birthday. Birthday Popcorn! It worked so well when you get it down onto the embers of the fire. It needs to get hot quickly and you have to move it back and forth so it doesn't burn. We first tried it on top of the built in grate on the fire pit and it didn't get hot enough to pop. After we figured it out, it worked like a charm and there were not many old maids and not one burnt piece. It tasted good and was fun to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by sireatalot nice popper
The popcorn popper works great. We placed a grate over our fire to use it with because we found it gets heavy if you just hang it over the fire. Use a oven mitt on your hand because the handle is a little short and your hand gets hot from the fire.

The review by AMEgrandmom is spot-on. We have used this popper for 3 years over our gas fire pit outside, on our ceramic-top stove at home (with the handle in its shortest setting) and over a regular campfire. Great popcorn every time! It is not flimsy, but you must keep in mind that the pot is made of aluminum so if you bang it hard, it will dent (I store mine in the box it came in). Keep it moving by shaking back and forth (not up and down which may pop the cover off). Our favorite is with plain ole' cooking oil and popping corn seeds from the grocery store. Add popcorn salt only after it's done popping. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Momofteenagers love this popcorn popper
Was looking for an alternative to s'mores for around the campfire. Have used this several times and LOVE it. makes a huge bowl of popcorn, and the all-inclusive popcorn kit makes great tasting popcorn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AMEgrandmom Campfire Popcorn Set
I read all the reviews; some bad, some good. I gave it to my daughter and her husband for a gift for their new fire pit. They loved it. It worked well, second time. Some of the reviews said it burned popcorn and the metal was flimsy. You have to keep it moving, like the old Jiffy-Pop so it doesn't burn. If you do that, as they did, it is alot of fun. The metal is not flimsy--it is a very nice popper. But if you are looking for really thick metal, the popcorn won't pop because the heat won't get in. The popcorn was delicious. Just takes alittle patience.

This will be our 3rd year using our popper and every year it is a big addition to our evening ritual. I will admit the handle is a bit confussing but not hard to figure out when everything has cooled down. Much better than the Jiffy pop brand.

The metal pot is no good. We only used it in the yard. Would not want to try to pack it for a camping trip. It bent easily the first time we used it. Then you have to keep trying to bend it back into shape to get the lid on. If the lid isn't on just right it will pop off. It does work if you have the patience for it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Arrianna Contrary to other reviews....
We bought this item based on the excellent reviews and were extremely disappointed. The metal is much cheaper than it appears. The lid attached to the handle doesn't stay on the pot. First batch burnt and spilled. Second batch burnt and almost spilled. The amount in the popcorn packet only filled the pot half way even though all of the kernels popped. We sent it back, scorch marks included!
