Although it made dragging my buck out of the woods easier, it didn't work as expected. The slots cut for the straps ripped in the first 20 yards. I used a pocket knife to cut slots further in from the edge and secured the sled with rope.(the strap buckles also failed). With a little modification to the design this could be an excellent tool as opposed to an okay tool.

Drug 200-pound deer 2.5 hours over muskeg, gravel, logs. Gravel eventually wears hole in sled. Plastic attachments for straps eventually broke. Having said that, it probably would have taken 4 hours without it! Or would have had to bone it out. We buy 1-2 of these sleds every year and just think of them as disposable. Weighs nothing to have along if hunting off road. Back-saving piece of equipment! Recommend harness. Hands get tired of pulling on rope.

I brought this sled with me Elk hunting yesterday in western Wyoming and although I was skeptical at first whether it would do the job for an animal larger than a deer, I was most impressed! I gutted and halved a 400# cow Elk and put both halves on the sled and 2 of us dragged it up and down the mountain side a mile and a half to our truck. Although the sled probably isn't rated for an elk (and isn't useable now), it was the best $30 I've spent in a long time! I'm ordering another today. I highly recommend this to any big game hunter.
