I had more than one of these and absolutely loved how warm they were. I have fibromyalgia, which includes many places that are extremely tender to the touch, and some waistbands cause pain. I was so pleased to fine something to wear to bed that eliminated that problem.
On the downside, I didn't care for the back flap. I don't know how anyone could use it as is in a practical manner. It either needs to be re-designed or eliminated.
It was only this winter that I realized that the problems I have had with my hands getting red, rough, and dry to the point of cracking and bleeding (even when I hadn't been outdoors) came after I was wearing these. The backs of my hands were the only part touching the wool. Sadly, I returned them. I wished I hadn't had to and hope that LLB will consider making something similar in 100% cotton.
They washed well in the machine; not sure what the instructions said, but I dried them on the line and they were fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NHKees Beyond Normal Cold NH Winters
Last Winter 14-15' NH broke a record cold of 145 yrs according to local news. Many of the New England other surrounding states broke record snowfall as well. I quickly learned, it's NOT how many layers you wear that matter. It's WHAT type of material it's that matters, such the union suit. As it's made w/wool :) I have a dog and live in an apt, dog must be walked in ALL kinds of weather. Global Warming is messing up all of our seasons everywhere it's crazy! The union suit is great as pajamas in mid-fall right before everyone puts on the heat again in New England.

I had a pair of these maybe 30 years ago from LL Bean; that pair in red, had buttons down the front but NO flap in the rear, which made for some interesting trips to the bathroom (luckily indoors!). It was warm & comfortable, no button or flap issues. Wore it out I guess, I no longer have it. So...ordered this one despite some of the reviews. It seems the same as far as material, but I am returning it: I don't like the back flap at all, seems to be way too much materials and I don't like the button closure. More to the point: I am 5'2" same as 30 years ago (I haven't grown or shrunk). When I took this one out of the package, it was apparent that it was about 12" too long! I just cannot see having it bunch up from my waist to my ankles! I think Bean should include that data somewhere in the description. I guess I will stick to my Bean double layer bottoms and top but I do wish they came in red! Maybe this could be redone, with snaps or a zipper in front & no back flap at all. Shorter....and in red!

Rated 5 out of 5 by byrdele Excellent low activity and indoor warmth
The union suit is comfortable, after being washed fits like skin but is not too tight and gives me the warmth and convenience that only a union suit can give. It would be nice to feature ivory or white to be worn under sweaters of that color. I am really glad that someone is making union suits for women, I don't have to buy men's and then hope I can shrink them down and if I wear more than one layer over it I don't have a long john shirt as well as a shirt under my sweater to tuck in. That's too much tucking for me. The quality is excellent. Please do think about white/ivory, though. The pale pink is good for lighter colored sweaters, but not for ivory or white. Thanks.

They feel elegant. Don't know how I've lived without them. You gotta try them.

I do love the cozy warmth of the suit but the sizing was tricky as I compared women's small and medium even against a child's XL. Oddly, what is bigger 'here' is shorter 'there'. The suits shrink a bit and it counts. Also, the logistics are funky if you're an avid water drinker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SmartShopper9 Union Suit button hole issue is fixed !!!
I bought the pink first, and then checked out the button hole issue, and it is fixed, so I bought the red union suit. The red also has button holes that are fixed now. The buttons do not come open. I have worn each suit for one week now, and the issue is completely fixed. I saw a couple of reviews about the button holes and wanted to update everybody. I usually never write a review, but this touched me to speak out to the issue, because it is fixed !

Rated 5 out of 5 by jvny Cozy and comfy, comfy and cozy
I waited for years before investing in these. I wish I hadn't because I could have been all nestled in red longjohn warmth earlier than now. But I finally made the purchase, and they are great! I sleep in them and layer them when it is super cold. They are a welcome addition to my cold weather gear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by beananllbeanerr4ever ahhhhh, old fashioned union suit in new fabric
This is fabulous; I bought the heather pink and it is a pretty color. Not that color matters; it's underwear after all. But I bought this to use as international travel jammies. I leave tomorrow for cold Brussels and will be glad to snoodle up in bed in this. Even nice hotels aren't warm enough in Europe. The thing that caught me by surprise is the functional split hiney with a button closure. I have had union suits before - and these split bums really don't work for potty breaks for women. I will probably sew it shut when I get home and restyle it in the back - and cut out the extra fabric (I can sew so this will be easy to do; it would be okay if I couldn't but I can, so I will!). The fit is great, the fabric is two layers and soft next to my skin, the best part? Ankle and wrist cuffs so they won't ride up when sleeping! All real jammies should have these. I am so glad Bean is offering these. Oh, one more thing - they aren't really super bulky so they fit in my carry on without taking up too much space. I guess the best part is if it is really, really cold outside I could also wear them as real long underwear during the day, which is their original purpose. I have lighter weight LJs for that, though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Wynter Ugly color and buttons
The pink color was .. off. There is no other word for it. Some pinks are lovely and some are not. In addition, the suit's buttons were ugly, too, ugly color and too big for the suit. I think LL Bean needs to hire designers who pay attention to the manufacturing details. Pink is not pink is not pink. The devil is in the details.
