I've worn this pant x-country skiing and shoveling this winter, and I didn't even think about the cold temps, or the wind! The pant kept me toasty warm, without being bulky. They are well constructed and will last for many years. My husband has the identical pant in the men's size and he raves about them as well. They run a little bit larger than true to size, which would allow layering over your choice of liner. I would definitely purchase them again.

Pants feel great. Walking dogs with temps in teen's and wind chill as low as single digit. Still comfortable. Great active wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GolfMainiac Finally! Finally !! FINALLY !!!
I have been looking for outdoor pants that fit like these for years. I am so tired of reading reviews from woman that say they are 5' 7" and weigh 105 lbs and how great everything fits. Well I am 5' 7" and weigh 205 lbs and am still very active. Well I am THRILLED to say theses pants fit fabulously. They are slimming ( sounds impossible from a woman my size, by they really are) and still allow room for a base layer. They are not tight and are very warm and comfortable. I just came in from a 3 mile hike up a small Mt in 12 degree temperature and with a base layer the pants were great. I will be definitely purchasing a second pair. Thank you for thinking of us Big Girls because we enjoy the outdoors too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Myco Very comfortable but a little full in the hips
I love these pants and the comfort and warmth is perfect. I altered the fullness in the hips, which was easy to do, but would not hesitate to give these a five star and would buy another pair.

I work as a school crossing guard, and these pants do a great job of blocking the wind and keeping me warm. The fit is just right, with enough extra room for long underwear if I need them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lady88 Awesome snow pants
I bought these for myself and my daughters before a winter trip to Yellowstone. Not only did they keep us warm and dry with just a pair of long underwear underneath, but they were slimming, as they are not bulky. It was also handy that they did not have to be unbuttoned when in a frozen portable toilet. Its great that there are a few different lengths too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mollyslave Best pants for winter exercise.
I am still wearing a pair of these pants I bought over 20 years ago for XC skiing. They are a little pilled now, but when I walk my dog in the cold weather, I am glad I have them. When the wind is really blowing, I do need to wear a wool baselayer, but for the most part, they are sufficient by themselves. I also have the Traverse II pants, which look more like regular pants--good for winter travel-- but they don't fit under waterproof pants and boots as well as these.
They are sized differently from back then. They are slimmer, but longer, than they were, so that I sized up but no longer needed to buy the Tall version. Sporthill confirmed that they have changed their sizing, and the true measurements are reflected in the sizing chart..

Rated 3 out of 5 by kreview just too long
I am 5'6", 153 lbs, usually a size 12 - a pretty average figure. When buying pants, they are frequently too long for me. These would have been PERFECT if they hadn't been WAY too long. I worried about the elastic waistband, but it sits nice and flat. The stretchy fabric is fabulous, and love the zippered pockets. The size large regular was very flattering and a perfect fit EXCEPT that they are at least 2 inches too long! And there is no way to hem them, given the zippers at the bottom. So, back they go. LLBEAN, WHY NOT OFFER THE PETITE SIZES TOO? Not every woman has long, long legs!

Fit not too loose or tight for outdoor sports. Can wear alone or with longjohns. Available in petites which are hard to find in cross country ski pants. Just the right weight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Beppolila Perfect for the Weinachts Markt in Dresden
I bought these Sporthill pants some months ago and thought they were very pricey, especially because all my purchases have to be sent to Germany (when you add the shipping and customs duties, you feel as though you have spent a small fortune). I hung them up without even trying on...but just used them for a trip to Dresden--wore traveling on train without long underwear and they were perfect for that. And with thermal underwear for trekking around the city couldn't be better, Only thing noticeable in way of complaint is they do pick up lint but of course, you can just brush that off. To help others, I am 5'2" and rounder in the waist so I got a Pet. L and that is a good fit for me. Where would I be without LLBean...no, I can't even bear thinking about it. Thank you Sporthill care of LL Bean.
