These are the most "drop-dead' fabulous shirts my husband has ever had!!! They look sharp, he says they wear wonderfully (comfortable, wrinkle-resistant, stylish), they wash beautifully and need little ironing, and are crisp, clean "wear anywhere" shirts. Especially good for this hot, hot summer when men need a little more than a golf shirt, but not enough to make them perspire. My husband already has one in every color and will buy more when he wears them out - a long time from now, due to their quality. I would give them more than 5 stars if i could.

Bought this for my husband as sort of an Indiana Jones-like warm weather shirt. Originally got the medium size but it was HUGE on him. Returned for a small which was still a bit large around the waist but fine at the shoulders so we kept it. The fabric is a little heavier than expected but it seems well-made.

the material is lightweight and breaths catching the breeze.

The quality of this item is excellent. However, I am disappointed that the XL is too tight to wear comfortably. My only complaint about Beam shirts is the size variability from shirt to shirt.

Couldn't be happier with this shirt. Had to replace a field shirt I had owned for 20 years and was having a tough time finding one that looked as good and I could have confidence in providing long service. This one is perfect...fits great, material is beautiful, and best of all it comes from LL Bean. What more could you want? Great shirt, great company, great combination...

I have purchased other L.L.Bean field shirts. They were comfortable almost right out of the package. These shirts even after two or three washings were itchy and the collar very stiff. I have washed them a few more times and they are much more comfortable. I noticed they were made in a different place then my other shirts. The shirts seem to be as well constructed as my other shirts.

Something worth noting - and I haven't seen this remarked elsewhere - there are two versions of the field shirt. One is made in Malaysia, the other in China.
Both are good. However, you don't know which you're getting when you order. Got one of each with the most recent order, and the differences are somewhat significant. I'm not negative about eveything that's made in China by any means, but the Malaysian version is clearly better. More wrinkle-resistant, stiffer pocket flaps and plackets, less pucker on seams after washing, other minor detils. Like both, but wish they would stick to the Malaysian version.
Regardless, the best field shirt I koow of tince the demise of Bean's ripstop cotton LS shirsts of decades ago.

I have been wearing these shirts for years. Can't say enough about them. I don't use the epaulets, but they tend to set the shirt off.

Great shirt concept, but I am 5'6" and this came down to nearly my knees
Shirt should be cut to wear outside pants or is only appropriate for bunyanesque frames
