We have had these raincoats in every size from 2T to our current size of 10 in boys. My boys like that the zipper works easily for them, the hood keeps their heads covered in the rain, and that they stay dry in a downpour. I like that the jackets last for multiple years as the coats have been passed down from my older son to my younger son.

Rated 5 out of 5áby calynne Great light rain jacket
I ordered two of these for my boys. Both of my boys are small and thin for their age. The first wears a size 4, and I ordered a 4-5 for him. The other wears a 5/6 and I ordered a 6-7 for him. They are perfect. They are big on them, but I don't mind. They have room to grow in them. The sleeves are adjustable, so the big fit isn't a problem, and can fit over sweatshirts.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Eriness Great Raincoat
This rain coat is thin, for those warm spring days, or early fall days. It is not insulated, so keep that in mind. I ordered my son an XL, since he's right at the size 14 mark and I wanted him to have some growing room. The XL is a bit too big, but that's what I wanted. He loves it. Very airy, thin and durable. Perfect for going out to play in as he doesn't get too hot.

Rated 5 out of 5áby NovaScotiaLLBeanFan Nice lightweight practical good looking rain gear
Purchased this is blue for my son who is 10. It's so much nicer than the thicker typical rain coats we've purchased elsewhere - I'm used to the thicker yellow rain coats that feel a bit heavy and slick.
This jacket, at first my son thought it was just a spring coat. It's lightweight, nice looking (doesn't really look like a raincoat# and you can easily pack it up in a back pack, and it comes out looking great.
I like that it looks like a jacket and not a rain coat. The blue is really nice. I will be getting more of these for my other kids in future.
It is a little crinkly I suppose. Certainly not bothersome. He actually wears it, whereas he hated putting on a raincoat before - and would frequently prefer to get drizzled on than wear one. Now, he wears this. So in my books, that's a rave review.
He's worn it on rainy days #we're on the coast) but so far we haven't had a real rainstorm to try it out in. I am guessing it will do the trick - no complaints so far. I also like the length. It's not as long as some other raincoats we've had, but again, I think my kids prefer the shorter length. More comfortable, and they still have good coverage.
I definitely recommend, and we definitely will be buying more of these.

Really like this jacket. Kept my daughter very dry in a drenching Florida downpour, and packs up nice and small to fit easily in a day pack.

Rated 4 out of 5áby migetmenace wind and rain
We live in the desrt and the wind is a bigger issue than rain. This jacket is good for both. We get 40+ winds and the occasional down poor. My daughter has been using this jacket for over a year, yes its a little noisy at first but that goes away with wear. She has backpacked with it in Canyonlands, Rocky Mountain nat. park, Mesa verde, silverton and the Sandia mountains as well as wearing it as a layer to school all winter. I will be getting one for my self as she won't let me borrow it.

Rated 3 out of 5áby karenndkitchen Would be perfect if only...
Bought this for my Boy Scout son. Definitely waterproof, love the reflective accents, love how it folds up into its own pocket. Very much dislike the poor ventilation. Pit zips would be nice, a back vent, or even underarm grommets would help. For older kids who sweat humping a backpack up a trail on a rainy day, some underarm or back vents really are necessary, otherwise they'd rip it off in order to get some air. This is really the only downfall of the jacket - but it's a big one IMHO.

Rated 4 out of 5áby OnlyBuysTheBest Great rain jacket, stop snowing already
I am very happy with the quality of this rain jacket. I read a lot of reviews before spending my money on this and yes, it is a bit noisy, not a biggie tho. The size was bang on I'd day. I read reviews that said it was huge so I went a size down, thinking it would have been good but unfortunatley it is true to size in my opinion. That being said I will keep the jacket and have to buy a bigger one in 2 years. Over all very happy (as usual) with my LLBean purchaces. Thanks so much for making great products.

Rated 1 out of 5áby Mommyoftwokiddies two thumbs down
I usually buy the Casco Bay rain jackets for my kids but decided not to because they changed the material. I will be returning this rain coat I tried, it is thinner then paper and is noisy noisy noisy. My daughter who is 5 noticed a big difference too just trying it on and told me she didn't like it.

áby Nancela67 High Quality Packable Raingear
This is exactly what it says it is, a "trail model" rain jacket. It has the same type of fabric as similar adult packable raingear, which can feel a bit plasticky over bare skin, but that's just how it is. I've found these to be true-to-size and I've bought lots of kids' raingear over the years. I find these more durable, attractive and full-featured than the other brands I've bought. They pack down nicely, a plus for backpacking, hiking and canoe camping. I noticed some comments about them being too large and having long sleeves, but that is so they can be layered over a heavyweight fleece. There were other comments about them being "hot" but they're not hotter than any other waterproof clothing, and much cooler than plastic rain slickers.
I find these to be very good quality rain jackets at a reasonable price. I'd buy more but my younger son gets them handed down from my older son and my older son is about to spring into adult sizes.
