I purchased this item for my niece in Seattle. She has a love affair with style and fashion and these pants do not cramp her style. She loves them.

This purchase was to replace a pair that my son had outgrown (not worn out after many, many uses). We went up TWO sizes, expecting that this would give him a few years of use before he would need to size up again. I was surprised that the pants are baggier than the pair he grew out of, but other than that, they just fit him in length. He had so much success with the first pair, I will try to exchange these at the store for another size up. I would REALLY like to give these five stars, but I agree with other reviewers that an adjustable waist and more length would make these much closer to perfect!

I wore these breathable, waterproof pants over a base layer on a mule to the bottom of the Grand Canyon! It was 36 degrees and snowing at the rim and 73 degrees on the canyon floor. I was comfortable at all times and it was so easy to take them off over my riding boots due to the wide velcro cuffs. Two days later, I had an unplanned opportunity to hike in Red Rock Canyon but I had no appropriate apparel in my suitcase. I wore the rain pants as my only layer, hoping they would breathe enough, and was so pleased! I never had to give a thought to what I was wearing, and could focus solely on soaking up the scenery!

My boys use these for rain and snow pants as their snow pants are too warm for recess. We have size 4-16 and have handed them down for our 4 children and they have never ripped or worn out. Sizing is right on and allows for the pants to go over clothing.

I have just ordered a second pair of Trail Model Rain Pants. My 5 year old frequently wears these rain pants on his walk to/from kindergarten and into the woods for hikes. From light drizzle to heave downpours, they keep him dry. After a year of what I consider to be heavy use, they have not yet ripped (and thus are being handed down to my 4 year old son). They are lightweight and easily pack into his backpack. They also easily slip on over his trousers.

I have been buying these pants for my son and when he grows out of them, I buy him another. These are our "go-to" pants for playing soccer outside in the often rainy Pacific NW climate. My son is the only one on the team not soaked ... these pants are 100% waterproof and fantastic! He even used them for snow pants just having fun in the snow ... very waterproof!

Purchased a pair each of these for my 2 boys for a trip to Alaska. They loved them! Wore them on colder hikes, kayaking, boat trips. They fit well over other thin pants or long underwear, were not too bulky, and kept my kids dry and warm. Both kids agree that they would make excellent snow pants for playing outside or skating in the winter, as they are less bulky than regular snow pants and would allow for easier movement. Not a substitute for traditional ski pants, however.

We bought the size 12 for my almost 11 year old son. He currently has a size 10 in this pant, but we wanted to be ready when he outgrows his smaller size. He walks over a mile to school. Sizing is perfect for him to grow into. He is slimmer, and we had no waistline issues.The fit was great over his jeans. We originally bought his other pants for going to the Boundary Waters, as well as family or Scout camp.

These are OK rain pants. I got them on sale. They really need an adjustable string in the waistband. They are a bit baggy allover compared to our old pair from a different store. The size chart really needs to include an inseam length. I ordered a 5-6 for my almost 5yo who is ~44 inches and I wish I had gone up in size so they were longer but then they probably wouldnt stay up around his waist since they cant be tightened. Not worth paying to send them back so I will try them out. But not as impressed as I was with the matching rain coat.
