by Spotdog14 Keeps the little guy dry!
We wanted a windbreaker/rain jacket for my 1 year old and are always impressed with LL Bean products so we did not hesitate to purchase this jacket. It's a little big but we purchased it that way so he could wear it all summer. On our recent trip to Florida it worked great to keep him dry during the rain storm (though playing in the puddles was a different story) and worked great for the cool nights.

At first my little guy was not interested in even trying this on, and then one morning it rained and I put on a rain jacket so suddenly he wanted to wear his raincoat. He wore it every day for WEEKS afterward (helps that we had a rainy start to fall.) He loves this so much, and I was so glad to find a good quality jacket that's not covered in cute animals or cartoon characters.
He wears 24 mos. in most clothes and I worried the 2T would be too big for him, but it's not so big that it's falling off and he has some room to grow in it, too. I'll buy this jacket again and again and again as he grows out of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by canoecamp05 Two hours in steady rain? No problem.
This past weekend, my husband and I and our three-year-old son spent two hours on a sailboat in steady rain. My son was the only one of the three of us to make it home with a dry sweater. (I should note that I was wearing a rain jacket made by a competitor--and it soaked through.) We think this unassuming little yellow jacket is pretty darn miraculous. Happy sailing, indeed!

Just received this jacket today in pink. It is so adorable. My little girl is 7 months old and 19 pounds, I ordered 6-12 months and it's too big for her yet but that's good because she'll be able to wear it until it gets cold this fall. It is soo adorable! A must have!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by GeocachingTheWorld On it's fifth rainy season and still working great
My mom bought my son's raincoat when he was 18 mo old, a size too large. He wore it nearly everyday for three springs. She then bought him a new, bigger one and the old one was handed down to his baby brother. Today we got it out for our first rainy spring day this year and it still looks practically new (if you ignore a couple of stains near the collar). The boys had a great time playing in the rain and were practically dry when they came in. We LOVE this jacket!

I purchased this jacket along with rain boots for our 4 1/2 year old grandson for Christmas. He lives in another state but his mom shared that both will be great for spring. The jacket fit well and the pattern was one that a little boy would love.

I bought a size 3T in yellow for my two and half year old daughter. The length of both the body and sleeves were adequate for continued growth plus the jacket was baggy enough to layer clothes underneath for when she wears the jacket this fall when the jacket alone would be too cold. A+ and I'll definitely be coming back next spring for the next size up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by OutdoorMom3 Durable raingear
We have owned two sets of the Discovery rain jackets and pants for our very active son. He had the 6-12 month infants' size since he started an outdoor-focused day care at 3 months, and he wore those until he was 18 months. Even through his crawling and rolling phases and with washes every week or so, the only real wear shows up where part of the LLBean logo has washed off. He is currently wearing the 2T size and has played actively and roughly in these through all kinds of weather, and they still look fine. Now I'm here to buy a 3T jacket. After having these perform so well at such a good price point, I can only hope LLBean continues making a similar product through his whole childhood!

Rated 5 out of 5 by HASF Discovery Rain Jacket for infants and toddlers
I just ordered the Discovery Rain Jacket and rain pants yesterday. They arrived today!
The material is just nylon, and I have not had an opportunity yet to try it out in the rain. But I wanted to write about how the item looks and fits. It is very well constructed and fits both my children perfectly! The jacket has a nice zipper and a felt chin guard. The seams/stitching are done nicely. And the colors are true to picture. I bought the yellow for my daughter and it is a gorgeous bright hue. I got the nautical red for my son, and it is true to the picture on the internet.
As far as sizing, my daughter is 19 months, and usually wears 18 months size right now. I bought her the 12-18 months jacket and pants, and they fit her perfectly with a fleece jacket and fleece pants underneath.
My son is 3 yo, and wears a 3T-4T. I bought the 4T and they also fit him perfectly over clothes. I was a bit concerned about length, because my son is on the shorter side, but the length is not a problem. Plus, the pants have tabs on the hem so that you can 'cinch' or close, the ankle around pants or boots. A nice touch.
I am very excited to try these items out in the wet weather, as well as see how they hold up over a wet season. I will review again once I've had a chance to try them out. Based on appearance and construction, I think that these items will work very well.

Second time buying the "same" jacket for my kid. Item has improved!
Just bought this in pink, size 3T, and it seems true to size. Fits my daughter who is just about to turn 3 (31 lbs, 37" tall). Better fabric (softer) at the chin. High quality with nice little details.
About 2 years ago I got a yellow one in size 18 months, and the fit was poor. Sleeves were too short even when my daughter was only 12 months old. Hood didn't stay up well, zipper was too tight at neck (on a skinny kid). Barely got any use out of it.
Happy with the new one. Hope to use it year-round. Roomy enough to layer over a 1/4 zip fleece and snow bibs in cold weather now. Uninsulated waterproof shells are perfect for layering. Ideal for spring skiing, so kids stay dry & have wind protection but don't overheat. (Wished we had this in a 2T last spring!) Soft mesh lining will be comfortable next to skin in warmer rainy weather (over just a tank or tee) next year.
