I purchased this desk in ivory for my daughter many years ago. When she moved out, the desk went with her.
I've so loved the look and practically of it, I just needed to replace it for my small spare bedroom. The ivory paint is rich and well done and a perfect size for small spaces.

This desk is over-priced for its quality. It's made in China, primarily of particleboard, and smells terrible--off-gassing formaldehyde, I expect. Also, the wood finish is not great; there are a number of tiny dents and rough spots, though mostly in spots that aren't too noticeable. I'd expect furniture like this to come from that Swedish mega-store and cost about half what this cost. I'm only keeping it because it fits perfectly in the spot I need it for. Not L.L. Bean quality, though.

I purchased this desk in black. Very chic. The desk was delivered quickly and it was easy to assemble -- the instructions are very clear. It is finished on all sides, so it can used anywhere in the room and does not have to be positioned against a wall. Perfect fit in my small home office. It holds my laptop computer, a lamp, and the phone and is exactly what I needed. Love it!

The desk arrived well-packed with no damage. It was easy to put together and is quite sturdy. The drawers have stops on them. The desktop itself measures 23"x40". Even though the finish seems tough, I ordered a piece of glass for it to help protect it from marauding grandkids. I find it a more comfortable height to sit my keyboard across an open drawer, rather than on the desktop itself, if I'm using it for an extended period of time.

The desk and console were received just 6 days following our order.
The items were very well protected and went together very easily.
We love the light sage finish and nickel pulls and knobs.

I ordered this desk for my bedroom to use my laptop/printer on. It looks great and is just the right size. I ordered the ivory color and just love it.
Unfortunately, it had a strong odor to it, even after I put it outside for 3 days. One other problem was that one of the dowels that goes into the back board was broken off. My boyfriend was able to pull the remaining part out and somehow make do with what was left.
My recommendation would be to place the 2 dowels in the plastic bag with the other screws, etc. Not sure what to do about the odor. But even with these problems I still gave it 5 stars.

Solid, well-built, attractive desk. Easy to assemble. Only problem was one of two metal pin attachments for the back rail did not line up. Used hammer to align the pin. Despite this problem, desk still merits 5 stars in my view. Great addition to my bedroom.

I've never taken the time to write a product review before but I was motivated by this experience. Short delivery time, great, sturdy piece of furniture, well packaged, and easy to put together. It is exactly as it is represented and it looks great in our home. We got the ivory color-nice, not too bright, smooth,durable surface Also ordered the bedside tables-same great quality, substantial looking tables. I stalked these items online for a long time before ordering and am very glad I finally ordered. Very pleased.

I am very pleased with this ivory desk from L.L. Bean. First of all it arrived in a rather large carton that has several dings on the outset. I opened it with trepidation however I have never received a box so well protected. You could drop this carton off a two-story building and it would survive!
Instructions were excellent! Only problem was that one of the screws (that goes into a receiver) would not work. I ended up drilling and inserting a screw of my own.
Nice drawers - very good construction! Worth the money!

Very attractive, sturdy desk ideal for laptop use, nice size to work well in a den, bedroom, guest room. Has enough work surface for laptop and papers. Drawers are a good size and move easily. As some other reviewers have noted, it assembles fairly easily, but the pre-drilled holes for the drawer pulls are the wrong size for the screws included (holes are way too small.) Also, the bolts identified as "black" are silver and do show up brightly against the painted black wood finish- they need a dab of paint. The black has a matte finish which is nice. Overall, very pleased with this item.
