Rated 5 out of 5 by nightgale Maybe better than MIcro-Chip
IMHO, this is the best twenty bucks you could spend for your doggie.
There's a better chance of a person calling you if your dog is found with the phone # obvious. Many stray dogs are never brought to a vet for a chip check, even if they are chipped! Collarless dogs are sometimes kept because "Oh, I guess he's lost."
And, THIS is the collar to get. It is the only collar/harness my dog could not destroy, chew, tear, snag, break or remove. She is completely comfortable with it.
Despite simple looks, it's high quality, sturdy, with good fittings. Lightweight and looks great after months of wear.
We got fuschia in the smallest size, with black lettering. Legible, unfaded and unfrayed.
A great idea and a nice, colorful little collar.

This is my second purchase of this collar. I've had the first one for over two years ans it still looks pretty good but starting to get a little scrungy from use. I purchased a red one last time for my reddish-orange aussie/golden retriever mix and that was not the best color choice with his fur color. The collar has held up very well even with my dog being a "puller" on his leash. We were on an all day road trip and left our dog in the backyard, at some point he got out and I received a call from a lady down the street to tell me she had found him and would watch him until we returned that evening. I had not met her prior to this incident, she just dialed the number on his tag.

My GSP has broken every other collar he has ever worn (some much more expensive than this one), and has had this one eight months with no signs of wear! The monogram has been priceless for the times he goes on unapproved excursions! This is the only one I have found that fit his large jowls, but are priced the same as the smaller sized.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tnannie Great collar for dogs who chew tags
This is a great collar. We have a dog that chews and removes traditional metal tags from her collar. This is a nice alternative in case she gets lost. Both the collar and the embroidery are heavy duty and withstand heavy duty wear. The only reason we're replacing our last one is because we lost it.

I have an 85 pound black lab, I bought a large green collar. It looks really nice on her and it's been great so far. It's nice not to have the jingling tag all the time. I have to say I'm surprised because this JUST fits her. When this one gets gross from wear I'll order the XL so she has a little extra room.

I have 2 Great Danes, the XL collar fits perfect with good room to spare. They are such big dogs that I would be afraid no one would get close enough to read a tag in the rare case they get loose.
I feel secure that I would get a call, the white stitching is easy to read at a distance.
I chose the white stitching on the blue and also the pink collars, and am Very Very pleased. Easy to read

I like this leash. It doesn't get as wet on the beach as my dog's matching collar does. (I can't figure out how to review the collar directly.) The metal rings on the collar do not like salt water; even after removing the collar and rinsing it in regular water after each beach session, it still rusts. My beautiful white dog gets rust on her fur from it. Perhaps if I had a different color dog....Please make the rings out of something less susceptible to salt water, not just a coating of resistance, but the whole thing. I'd pay for a solid ring of a spendy material if it didn't rust--my dog and I will be going to the beach for many many years.

My 3 large dogs wear (wore) these collars. Unfortunately the more hyper one lost his who knows where on a hike. Have not found it yet, but surely will eventually. Have lots of positive comments on the collars and like having the identification readily available. They are all chipped but the more id the better. One suggestion would be a "roll" ring instead of the clip type. Safer and maybe less readily "lost."

Rated 1 out of 5 by drdullinger Clasp makes this a flawed product
Along with the other many reviews, I have to report that the clasp is a fatal flaw for this product. I purchased this one on October 29 and the clasp broke yesterday. This is the second time. I won't reorder. I have an older dog (15 years old) so this is not the result of product stress. A quality company like LL Bean should discontinue this product or fix the problem.

I really liked this collar and was happy that my dog was wearing it. It is a great idea to have the contact info in plain sight, except after a few months the clasp just flew apart when I put it on her. Way to much money for a collar that lasted only 3 or 4 months.
