Rated 1 out of 5 by MaineAdventurer Didn't work for me
I used these snowshoeing for the first time yesterday and returned them today. They were pretty easy to assemble and adjust to length. However they did not work over moderately challenging terrain. As I used them they kept telescoping down so I had to keep stopping to re-adjust the length, and then the next time I climbed, one or the other would collapse back to short position.
How about a reasonably priced, non telescoping alternative for us older snowshoe-ers?

I hike every day for 1 to 2 hours on the sand and in the woods even when there is lots of snow. These poles are great for my fragile back. They spread the weight, provide added stability, keep my posture straight, help me climb, and make me feel a little safer should I encounter wildlife. I lost my first pair and ordered new ones right away. I like that they are adjustable for different situations.

Rated 3 out of 5 by hikermomof3 OK poles...
I purchased these poles on sale for a good price. They are OK, but one of them comes loose and adjusts while I am snowshoeing and I have to stop to readjust and tighten. They are ok, but I may spend a little more to get a sturdier pole.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CanoerSue Trick for putting the baskets on.
I read other reviews that said the baskets were very difficult to install, and sure enough, while I had no problem snapping the basket in place with a rocking motion, I could not turn it to lock it in place. I removed the basket, immersed it in a small microwavable dish of water and zapped it for 20 sec. This softened the rubber just enough to easily pop it on and rotate it to lock into place. It does help to have another person to hold the pole while you rotate it. This method requires very little hand strength.
I haven't used them yet, but the hand grip is comfortable, they are well made, and I think they will work well for winter or summer walks.

These are ok. A little flimsy, but what do you want for $35. Could not get the baskets on for the life of me. They would not twist into place so I left them like they were. Hopefully they won't fall off.

Despite the other reviews this was SUPER EASY to set the length and get the base pieces on. I deplore assembling anything and this was a snap- goes great with the snow shoes- get the set!

Unfortunately, we just got these so have not tried them out, but we have another pair just like them and they have held up three seasons so far, those Austrians know how to make a good product. Thanks for making our quick exchange return of the other poor quality poles so seamless.
