I have wanted white boots and was excited to find these. They seemed awfully expensive, but I decided to go for it and order them. They came really fast - like a week before they said to expect them. I put them on without the laces as soon as I opened the package, and they seemed too long. I was going to return them, but today I decided to try again. This time I laced them up and tried them on with my regular socks. They still felt a bit large, but I thought that they would be OK. Then I put on my heavy socks, and wow, they fit perfectly. But my feet felt kind of cold. Then I realized that I had laced them too tightly. Once I loosened the laces, my feet warmed right up, and have stayed warm. Based on some other reviews, I have purchased the fleece insoles which are on back order until January. I bet that once they come, these boots will fit perfectly with my lighter socks. I love how they look, and they seem to be extraordinarily well made. LLBean wins again !!!

I LOVE these boots!!! My feet are always freezing and these boots actually keep me warm! Not only do they make walking across campus more comfortable (although sometimes I do need to add thicker socks), I look cute doing it. They keep my feet dry and warm, even if I'm trudging through unfortunate amounts of snow. I highly recommend these to anyone who, like myself, finds themselves wondering if perhaps while walking in the snow, their feet fell off a few feet back and they just couldn't feel it happen. If your feet get extra cold in the winter, you NEED these boots!

I moved to Ann Arbor MI, from sunny Santa Cruz California this year for graduate school, and needed a few winter necessities. Wow, these boots are amazing! I waited until the snow hit, which was early this year, to review these boots. I am more than pleased. Infact, I also purchased a pair of the ginormous sorel Joan of Arctic boots, and believe it or not these boots are significantly warmer than the sorels are! I'm so impressed; these boots are both attractive and incredibly warm. I can't wear them during fall weather (40 degrees and up) because they are just too warm, and that is what the unlined bean boots are for. I wear these with heavy wool socks, so I only ordered one size down. With regular socks I would have needed to order two sizes down as I did with my unlined bean boots. These are so worth the price, and with ll bean's return policy, you really can't go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Ducklintina Fantastic boots!!
After searching the past 3 winters for a decent pair of winter boots my search has finally ended. These boots look great - I live in the UK and currently wear them folded down and I am getting plenty of compliments on them and questions as to where to get them. They are extremely comfortable and water proof - great for muddy and wet days out with the kids and walks with the dog. I already know that when the spring arrives again I will not want to put these boots away.

I am ready for winter with these boots. They fit well and true to size. Wearing high, thick socks increases the warmth and comfort. I just moved to Boston after 6 years in LA and South America so I am not yet used to the chilly weather. Now I am ready for snow, slush or whatever.

Rated 4 out of 5áby skiwithme Love them!
I bought these for my daughter two years ago to wear around her college campus. She loved that they were waterproof but did ask me to buy her the shearling insoles/inserts for them as the shearling only lines the ankle and calf area. With the inserts they are now warmer. When she went to study abroad last winter she left her boots home and I wore them a few times and was hooked! I ordered myself a pair and they were on back order but arrived two weeks earlier than stated on my order status. I also ordered myself the shearling inserts. I am giving them 4 stars due to the fact that I had to spend an extra 20 dollars for each pair to line the foot area. For the price of these boots that was a disappointment. She wears size 9 1/2 and the 9 fit perfectly. I wear size 8 1/2 and the 8 fit perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Littlepuss High quality, sizes run large
The 10" shearling-llined boot is nice looking and high quality. My only complaint is that the boots do not run true to size. After having to wait for them due to a back order, the regular size was just too big. I had to go through the trouble of sending them back, waiting for a smaller size which is also on back order. I called customer service as I did not think it fair to be charged for return shipping. The rep advised me to send a note in with the return boots explaining this and that I would not be charged for the return shipping fee. Ordering directions only said for half sizes to order down, not regular sizes. Very difficult for a consumer to get the correct fit.

Rated 4 out of 5áby ADKfamily Comfortable but too small at the top
These boots were great, I really wish they worked out but the top of the boots near the calves were too small and I have skinny legs. The laces were not long enough.I am going to opt for a shorter version.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Becks91210 Comfortable but run big
I am a size 6.5, but seeing as that is not an option I ordered the 7m because the narrow also wasn't available thinking I would be wearing thick socks. But the 7 was way to big even with the thick socks. So I returned them (which was extremely easy) and got a 6m which fit perfect with regular socks. The boots are really compfy and can be worn a couple different ways however the sheering doesn't go all the way to the feet. I love the more feminine white over the brown though! I haven't worn them in the cold and wet season yet so hopefully even without the extra shearling they are as warm as they say.

Rated 2 out of 5áby Semioutdoorswoman OK for shoveling, not hiking
I got these because a couple years ago because we had a snow storm, and I all I had to wear were rain boots. My feet hurt really bad from the cold. So these boots do succeed in keeping you feet warm. And they work great for shoveling. But that's about it. The laces are WAY too short, you can barely tie them. The tread is really bad; it isn't deep enough to give you purchase. Their have been quite a few times where I've slipped which is NOT what you want with a winter boot. I wore these for a short hike. The terrain was mostly flat, and these didn't work. I had to walk funny to get a good grip in the snow. Regular hiking boots work better for that. So all in all, good for shoveling, or another time when it's not slippery out, but not when you're hiking or walking in slushy terrain.
