Rated 4 out of 5 by Peiszutu Great mild winters; not so great for harsh ones
I am a woman with size 6 feet. I bought these in a size 3 because the women's bean boot were extremely large eventhough it says they're a size 6. They fit more like a size 7 or 8.
I've worn these boots all last winter and all through the rainy season of spring in Vancouver, BC, Canada. They were great; kept my feet warm and dry in inclement weather. They were stiff at first but quickly worn in with daily use. I also liked that it has better support than my rubber boots. I loved them!
However, this winter I've brought them up north where temperatures can reach minus 85F with windchill. It's only November and temperatures have already reached minus 77F. I wear these boots everyday to and from work. I'm sad to say, they do not do the job. My feet are cold even with thermal socks and are quick slippery when walking over icy patches which is the entire landscape up here in the winter.
I will have to go back to my heavier and bulkier winter boots for the north. But I will certainly continue to enjoy these boots in milder winters for many winters to come.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the boots. These would get 5 stars if the insulation was better for harsher winters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MJ568 Sizing Adjustment for Women with Small, Wide Feet
I bought these for myself, since I have smaller feet. In adult sizes, I would probably wear a size 5.0W but I can never find them, so I usually settle for size 5.5M.
Following the advice of other reviewers, I ordered a size 3. These fit well if I'm wearing thin socks: over a pair of long, thin, smartwool socks, the boots fit well in the width and are just a tad long.
However, I can barely get my feet in the boots if I'm wearing thick winter socks. The length is probably ok, but it's hard to tell because the width is so constrictive I immediately had to take off the boots.
So, here's my advice for people with wide feet: If you plan to wear these boots over thick socks, subtract one from your women's size (i.e. Women's size 5 = Children's size 4).
If you plan to wear these boots over thin socks, subtract two (i.e. Women's size 5 - Children's size 3).

Rated 5 out of 5 by LacyJay Great boots!
The boots live up to the reputation! I stomped through puddle after puddle on purpose and my feet stayed dry! I wear thick socks so my feet stay warm in them and the fit is good. I have a wide foot and wish there was a selection for that when purchasing, but the fit is good either way! I am a 5.5 in womens and I got the 3 in kids and they're perfect! I have worn them almost everyday since I've had them. They held up and didn't make my feet sore after hiking at Cuyahoga Valley which is a relief because it was muddy and rainy!

Would much prefer the slip on version as it is easier to get in and out of when busy.
Hint: Bring back slip ons.

I want to fall to come only so I can wear my bean boots. They are so comfortable. They do not require any breaking in prior to wearing. I usually wear a women's 6.5 or 7, so I went with a kids size 4. I don't like thick socks, so they fit me perfectly. The kids ones are lined with thinsulate.

These boots seem to run a little large. Had to return for smaller size. Return was super easy - no problems. My daughters love these boots!

In 1997, I bought a pair of the kids? hunting boot / gumshoe (slightly different from the ones shown here) at the outlet in Freeport. I usually wear women?s 6, but these were a good price. I?ve worn these boots in snow, ice, sleet, freezing rain, rain, and mud. I?ve taken them to Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Norway, Iceland, and Germany. After 17 years, a tiny crack (1/4 to 1/2 inch) has appeared over the left instep. This is a great product, and I?m amazed that it has lasted this long and this well!
I love these and need a new pair. Please offer tan leather. I tried the women?s 6, but it was too big and it isn?t available in 5 or 5 1/2.
