Rated 5 out of 5 by shortperson42 good blanket and flashlight
I got this for the blanket because I don't like LLBean's new waterproof blanket, which is thicker fleece and too puffy. The blanket in this travel kit is like the one they made years ago - it folds up more compactly and is easier to throw in a bag with other stuff. The flashlight is also pretty cool since it doesn't require batteries - I will use it in my car.

I bought this kit chiefly for the blanket. It's great and just the right size for using when attending outdoor music festivals. I think it'll be great for our little dog to nap on while we're sitting in our lawn chairs enjoying the music. My husband loves the flashlight too. Some of the other items do seem a little flimsy, but we may not need to use them anyway. The blanket is soft, sturdy and folds up compactly. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ProtestMarcher Travel Blanket Compact and Convenient
I was looking for a blanket that was easy to carry when attending outdoor programs and protest marches. This fills the bill to a tee. It is a good size, will stay dry on damp ground, and easy to fold up, stick in the carrying case and take along.

We bought one of these for each family member to carry in their car. We live in northern Ohio. THe weather can change quickly with lake effect snow and ice. Many times we have black ice appear in minutes.
We liked having everying in the kit handy to survive in case of serious problems. A family friend went off the road last month and was stopped headed down in a deep ravine. She could not get out of the car or she was go further into the ravine. She had a cellphone and did call for help. She waited in her car with nothing but the cellphone for hours until two tow trucks could get to her and pull her carefully out. She would have been much better off with the blanket since it was very cold and late in the day. And she would have been better off with the flashlight to guide her rescuers to her.
We never know what is around the next corner for anyh of us. It is best to be prepared and not need it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by gardencook Priced a bit high for the quality
I am a bit disappointed in the overall quality of product. The blanket looks more for picnics, to lay on wet/cold surfaces, than to keep you warm in emergencies, (the back side of blanket is a bit too rigid). A better option would be those emergency silver/thermal blankets. The vest and gloves are not of lasting quality and the vest is very small (fits me, but would be snug on a man or if you had a winter coat on- guess you could wear it on your head). The vest is nice and bright, though. The flasher is small, but can be clipped to clothing or backpack. It has lots of flashing options- this is the best part of the whole package! The flashlight is very small- at first I did not care for that, but it can fit in a shirt or back pocket, so maybe that's ok. It does appear to be very bright for it's size. I said I would recommend to a friend, because it's about safety, but I would like better quality. If not, then certainly this product should be sold for less money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MegM Pretty neat travel kit
I like the blanket real well although I have not yet figured out how to roll it up for stowage. The blanket is cozy on one side and hard nylon on the other which is just what you want for warmth in an emergency. There's a large storage pocket to hold the included items and more (powerbars etc.). And as they mention in the description, the blanket would make a nice picnic blanket!
The flashlight is really neat, apparently running indefinitely by being occasionally shaken. The packaging includes fairly serious warnings about how strong the magnet is in the flashlight - not safe for pace makers and the like. If someone in your family has a heart problem I'd steer clear of it.
The vest and gloves are fairly feeble - but it gives me the idea of storing a good pair of gloves and hats for each of us in the pocket.
My husband was so entertained with the emergency flasher, it may never make its way back to the blanket pocket. It has 7 different settings!

We have new driver / vehicle owner in the family - this is very practical and in it's own handy pouch. Hope they never need it, but nice to know it's on hand.
