Excellent quality cotton and workmanship, fits my 12 inch mattress with much room to spare. I have been shopping with L.L. Bean since the 1960's--Best place to buy Anything!!

I knew something was off when the very light box arrived. I had bought LLBean all-cotton mattress pads for years. This one is different. Now I see I should have read the small print. It is only "cotton-filled." Top of the pad is cotton; the reverse side is a slippery, flimsy polyester. I'm disappointed.

I bought this knowing that LLBean's quality would be assured. A good thing, because after the second, yes, second, washing, the backing began falling off. I am in the process of returning and have already received a replacement. This one will go back also if that same thing happens. Too bad, was hoping that I wouldn't have to buy one for a long time.....

Though it fits very tightly, upon sleeping on it for a few nights, it stretches out unevenly, and lumps and wrinkles, causing creases on an otherwise smooth bed. I prefer a smooth sleeping surface, and it makes for a lumpy wrinlkly bed. I am not pleased, but have used it for too long to return..Will use it as a dog bed filler..sigh.

This mattress pad is coming apart after 1 washing in a large commercial front-loading machine. The backing, which has a thin papery feel to it, is ripping apart where it is quilted. Consequently, the cotton batting is coming out. i will have to send it back. What an inconvenience. Very shoddy materials. Too bad, because it fit perfectly.

Having shopped at L. L. Bean for decades, I was disappointed at the performance of this product. Because it lacks any finishing on the back, the cotton batting is diminished with each washing, actually coming out in clumps. Perhaps the buyers can find a more substantial, carefully stitched, cotton mattress pad to replace this one.

Bought two of these Mattress Pads. Opened them, put them in washer and dried them in dryer. They washed well, fluffed up and they have a great fit and stay in place very well on our adjustable beds. Also made bed more comfy.
