We use high-quality Portuguese cotton flannel, an L.L.Bean exclusive, that's been expertly brushed for softness and warmth. Choose from seven Scottish tartans, yarn-dyed so the patterns stay clear through many washings. Center back pleat for ease of movement. Button-down collar, single patch pocket and shirttail hem. Imported. Machine wash and dry.

Rated 3 out of 5�by Mervich Something's Not Right! I purchased the Green Tartan and the Royal Stewart. Both are quality flannel and fit well. There is a problem, though: the plaid pattern repeat flow across the front button placket is way off, especially on the Royal Stewart. Makes it look like a bargain store shirt that was cut on the cheap. I am keeping the Green Tartan because it is not terribly bad, but the red Royal Stewart is going back. Just not acceptable. Bean quality seems to be drifting downward. March 11, 2013

I got 5 of these for my husband after reading the excellent reviews here: these shirts are so wonderful that we purchased the other 2 tartan patterns as well! Absolutely incomparable, luxuriously soft and thick flannel; have never seen such nice fabric! Shirts are well-made, wash and dry perfectly, and the tartans are classic. Rated 1 out of 5�by pipeline2 Black Watch Scotch Plaid Flannel Shirt I am so disappointed in this shirt. The fabric is balling up after only 3-4 washes. It's not holding up. I bought another one of the Scotch Plaid Flannel shirts for my son for Christmas in the Stewart fabric and he's not had a bit of problem with it. The cut and fit of the shirt are just fine though. I wear a large tall and if fits perfectly. I'm returning the shirt today for something else. February 15, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5�by dkhinkle Different fit than Chino shirt I ordered a regular-medium, which was the same as the Chino shirt that I had ordered previously. However, this shirt fit differently, and the sleeves were shorter. In addition, the opening at the end of the sleeves seemed to have an extra fold of fabric, which was noticeable against the underside of my forearms at the point where the two sides joined together. I felt like returning it, but didn't want the hassle. After washing it (warm water) and drying it (20 min. low heat, then line dry) a few times, the sleeves have gotten too short for me. However, the fabric is really warm, comfortable, and with an attractive pattern. If only this shirt were made from the same pattern as the Chino shirt! February 10, 2013
