Rated 5 out of 5 by MarkMA Unparalleled Comfort and Warmth
My wife bought me one of these shirts (Black Watch) for Christmas this year. It immediately became my favorite shirt. Not only is it extremely comfortable, but provides a level of warmth that is unparalleled. I have since bought four more of these shirts and have recommended them to my co-workers. I am 5'9'', 175lbs and the Large fits perfectly. Great shirt all around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HPH48 Best Flannel Shirt I've Seen
In true L.L. Bean fashion, this is the best flannel shirt I've seen. It's TRUE flannel, not a thicker cotton shirt with a plaid design like many "flannel" shirts today. This one will keep you warm on chilly nights. Washes and wears well. My husband wore his about once a week this past winter and it still looks great!

Straight out of the package, the fabric seemed too thin. However, after washing and drying, it seems like a normal flannel thickness. I like it so much, on cool days, I wear it more often than any other shirt.

by AK6863 Annoying tag
It's not depicted in the catalog picture, but this shirt (in the regular fit) comes with an extra tag sewn in the upper collar that is very scratchy and annoying. I stopped wearing the shirts because of it.

I have three of this type of shirt, each of different color. In fact, I am wearing one right now. It is the best flannel shirt I have ever worn. Retains it's size and color after repeated washings. The only reason I don't have more is that they sold out of the other colors in my size. Don't waste your money in local big box stores on flannel shirts that shrink two sizes, buy these. And No, I don't work for Bean or the supplier, just retired and comfortable.

I was going to throw out my husband's old LL Bean flannel shirt because it had a hole in the arm. Then I picked it up, and it was thick gorgeous flannel. No way was I going to throw it out! I patched it and ordered two more from them for the holidays! One for me, and one for him. Matching. They are nowhere near the quality of the one I patched. 1/3 of the thickness, and they are pilling already. What is up with that? If you want uber thick flannel, this is NOT it. :( Their sizing is still great though. The old LLBean shirt was made in El Salvador. #0MT07 I guess we'll be keeping that one forever....and sending these back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JimToo Unexpected comfort
I have never owned an LL Bean flannel shirt before and bought this item on a whim because it was offered in our family's tartan pattern. I had no expectations for the shirt other than typical LL Bean quality, but the comfort of the shirt's material took me totally by surprise. It is very soft and so, so comfortable. The weight of the cloth is perfect too. It has been my favorite shirt during the cold winter months.

I was more than satisfied with this clean, soft, well pressed, beautiful colors, black watch flannel shirt.
In all truthfulness, the terrific shirt was better in real life to the touch and wear than the picture. As you know, there are no ll bean stores in California, so I have to choose by the pictures until I buy one or travel to buy one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Stonewall35 Top Notch Flannel All the Way!
I have this in the Prince Charles of Edward color, and the color is beautiful: very rich and deep. Since people tend to forget to put their height and weight or what size they purchased, let me save someone a possible return. I'm 5'9" and 240 lbs, and the XL is right on. I will say, however, that compared to the Freeport Flannels I own, this one seems to accentuate the middle area for those of us with ?guts? when tucked in to some khaki work slacks, but an XXL would be far too large for me. My best bet is to drop 5-10 pounds if I want to tuck it in and wear it to work. I don?t have that issue with the Freeport Flannels, but this truly is a fine shirt. Oh, and if you follow the washing instructions, you'll get no shrinking.(At least that's been my experience so far with all LL Bean flannels I own.)
You can definitely tell that these are dyed yarns woven into a pattern as opposed to a print on the fabric. After some washing and drying I?m very impressed with the vivid colors and durability of the material. I come home and put this on nearly every day after work. I've even worn this one to bed it?s so comfortable! I expect many years of wear from the Scotch Plaid flannel shirt. I teach at a little college and this is at home in the classroom tucked in or on a camping trip. Keep this color in stock!

I bought this shirt in the Grey Stewart pattern. The colors are very good, the fit is excellent, and the shirt needs hardly any ironing after washing.
