Rated 5 out of 5áby MichiganMH Very compact. Heats fast!
I've had this stove for two years and have used it several times on backpack trips. Most recently took it for a week on the AT in Georgia. I have been most impressed with how fast it heats and how little fuel is consumed. The variable fuel control is also a key feature. High for heating 4 cups of water in a few minutes. Low for keeping chili warm on a football talegate. Stove packs compact. I keep it inside my pot/lid kit along with the fuel pump and lighter. Very compact and I highly recommend.

I received this stove on September 21st. I haven't had a chance to use the stove out in the field yet but I have used it at least 2 dozen times since I bought it. I think the stove is well made, light, and folds up small.
The stove is easy to light and easy to use. From the pictures I thought you would need something with some reach to get in the hole and light the stove. It is easily lit with a Zippo. Unlike some other white gas stoves I have used there is no big fireball when you go to light it and prime it.
I haven't used the wind screen yet but everytime I have boiled water it will bring to a boil quickly with or without a lid. I did this using a quart to a quart and a half each time. It doesn't take long to start to get steam which means the water is hot enough for coffee. The stove can be loud at the highest setting but not much more than any other white gas stove. You don't even need to use the highest setting as it will still boil water quickly at the medium setting. The stove also simmers well.
As for customer service I have to say MSR is doing a good job. Before I bought the stove I had a question about the pot supports. In all of the pictures they look very wide apart. I called MSR and asked them if my pot would fit. He put me on hold and grabbed a stove and a pot. He used a 4 1/2 inch pot and said that it was about 1/2 an inch on each support. The other nice thing about the customer service is that there was no wait.
The only downsides is that the hose to the fuel bottle could be a bit longer or not as stiff. I have not been able to straighten the hose out all the way. I can still keep it somewhat away from the stove though. If you put your hand on the fuel bottle you can feel heat on your hand. However, I haven't felt the fuel bottle heat up so this may not be an issue. Also be careful when you depressurize the stove. If you unscrew the pump too quickly you will get a little fuel on your hand. If you do it slowly and a little at a time you will be ok. I dont' find this to be a big issue either once I found out you just have to unscrew the pump slowly.
Overall I find this stove to be a good buy and I have already recommended this stove to my friends.

I have used this on short 3-4 day hikes and on a Appalachian Trail Thruhike. After 3 weeks on the Appalachian Trail, I had problems with the nozel getting dirty and clogging up and the stove not working. I would clean it, it would work for a day, and then it would happen again, and again (note used coleman white fuel). When working it performs well, however it is the most noisy stove I've ever heard, (sounds like a jet taking off). It is a bulky stove and doesn't pack well - and is difficult to find cooking gear that it will fit into easily. It is great and very stable with big pots. I don't recommend this for light weight backpacking. I replaced this with a MSR Pocket Rocket.

Bought this liquid fuel stove for use in cold conditions after having problems with propane this winter. Tried it out and was very happy with it's ease of use. Was a little concerned that no instructions were provided concerning the wick but apparently none needed. Heat output and control as tested were as advertised. Now to try it while camping!

I purchased the dragonfly to replace an Optimus stove with similar capabilities. I had an XGK which I lost and bought the Optimus on a sales person recmmendation over the DragonFly. What a dissapointment. The flame was difficult to light and it never seemed to spread entiely around the fire ring. The dragonfly proved to be the same reliable stove I had come to rely on with my old XGK with very similar capabilities except that the dragonfly works better than the XGK when your using a large pot like a fry pan since its legs extend out much farter than the XGK for support. Overall I am very happy with the Dragonfly and would recommend it to anyone wanting a light compact easy to light and use camp stove.

This is a fantastic stove. I've had mine for over 12 years and have had no problems. When boiling water, this stove is fast, but loud. Excellent fine tuning for easy simmering. Perfect stove!

I purchased this stove before our Boy Scout troop hiked on the Appalachian Trail. This stove was easy to use and not any noisier than any other backpack stove. The ability to lower the flame is a great feature. This stove will fit inside of the MSR Titan 2L pot with the accessories.
The scouts were able to boil water without any difficulty for their back packing meals. Water for hot coffee was ready in no time.

I bought this after checking out all reviews from several differant sites. I took all the positives and negatives and believed that the positives where greater. Boy was I right! This is probably the best investment for backpacking that I have ever made. I was told it was very loud...its no louder than any other camp stove that I have used, and I have used quite a lot of them. The weight and portability is not cumbersome, the cooking time is especially fast, and even in extreme cold weather it worked without any problems. I will reccomend this to any and all campers and backpackers.
