This is my new favorite shirt. It has a great fit (not too long in the body or sleeves) so I can wear it untucked. It also has a great weight, so it's not too warm, but still feels substantial. The colors are clear and it's assembled with care, so the stripes match at the seams. It came through the wash looking like new. It's so comfortable, I just ordered two more colors.

This is quite simply, a great shirt. Its beautifully made (in Peru), the sleeves are long enough to end one inch below my wrist, the stripes match at the seams, and the fit is relaxed but not sloppy on a medium build person. One reviewer described the cotton knit fabric as "scratchy." Well I have sensitive skin but this shirt does not scratch me. By the way the red is a true medium red, although my browser shows it closer to burgundy. Overall a terrific purchase. Well done LL Bean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ShortPumpMom Great Shirt!!
First off, I LOVE this year. Told my husband that again driving home yesterday and got the eye roll back! It's slightly thicker than a regular shirt which has made it a great addition this spring when I needed something slightly warmer then just a long sleeve t-shirt. It washes up great and was true to size. I'm about to buy another one and I hope LLBean has it again next year.

LLBeans sizing chart has me wearing a small, but xs fits me better.
I bought 2 of these shirts and I am very pleased.
They look and feel great. I think I will order another color soon.

Bought this shirt in Navy/Cream.I was a little hesitant at first because I thought it was a light knit material.A friend ordered it before me and I was so delighted to see and feel that it was thicker and softer than I thought. It will be perfect for a cool summer night over a tank top or layered over a cotton camisole .Unfortunately I hesitated too long before ordering so the Red/Cream combo was sold out in my size.I normally would wear a Med. but I ordered a Large with the intention of wearing another shirt underneath and I don't like anything too snug especially in the summer.I will keep a watch out for more colors. This is a wardrobe staple for New Englanders.

I really like the design of this shirt. Fit was a little on the short side in terms of length in both sleeves and body. The fabric is so rough!

Rated 3 out of 5 by LLBeanCustomer68 Not true to size
I ordered two of these....the red and white in XL and the blue and white in 18W, hoping to have the 18W fit baggy. Well, the 18W is much smaller than the XL, and in fact, the sleeves barely reach my wrists. Hoping this is a fluke. As long as they don't shrink, I am going to keep both, but buyer beware, the sizes aren't necessarily true. I will say the china blue color is beautiful!

Perfect for summer and spring.
You can wear it on top of a t-shirt or long sleeve shirt.

Usually i wear small size for all llbean garmets and fits ok for its size.
I bought the first one 7 years ago and the last one last month. The first one still ok but i wanted other colors.

I can easily see why this is a LL Bean classic. It's very attractive, even "sexy," feels great and washes beautifully. It's striking with a pair of white or navy pants. Oh, those French sailors! Watch the video the company has posted with the description of the shirt. It's very interesting and a part of history you'll enjoy if you are a LL Bean fan like I am. I'll take one more for now, thank you.
