Rated 5 out of 5 by Miriel quick & easy to use
I recently purchased this filter to take on my first solo backpacking adveture. I loved it. It was easy to assemble and simple to use. I really like that the pump handle glides smoothly. The extra pouch for storing the outflow tube seperately from the rest of the pump was handy. The filter works great and doesn't add much weight to my pack.

Simple, small, lightweight, easy to use - once you figure out you don't need half the fittings that come with it. It would have been helpful to have simpler "quick set-up" directions, instead of having to go through 3 different sets of directions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kisa perfect for backpacking
I've used this pump on backpacking trips for many years and it has never failed me. The working parts are straightforward and sturdy, there are no batteries or fragile bits to wear out. It's easy to use and easy to clean. It's versatile, you can remove the wide-mouth bottle adaptor and just use the hose (which also shaves off a little weight). The "acorn" prefilter helps keep filter changes to a minimum.

Rated 4 out of 5 by KYBeaner Works Great, but Not a Workhorse
Canoed ten days in Quetico Provential Park in Canada with this filter. It did great, but after a few days it began to clog frequently. We were pumping several quarts of H2O a day with it, so it was getting its test. This filter will do a tremendous job, just be ready to clean or replace the cartridge if you plan to pump some volume.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rhon Great H20 Purifier
I've used this probably 10 times in Maine while backpacking and it has worked great. The only "problem" now is, with the BPA problem with nalgenes, I now have the new canister-style water bottles and the purifier has a large spout that fits the wide mouth of nalgenes.
Worth the money though.
