I am new to LL Bean this past year. My father has ordered a few things in the past. I love the outdoors and love to be comfortable while enjoying the outdoors. This is a great layer underneath a flannel button up or by itself with a jacket. Thank you for a great product!

I would have to agree this is one tough t-shirt. It's extra thick, not even comparable to any long sleeve I've ever had. It's a soft cotton and the cuffs and neck are assembled well. It's a t-shirt, so not much else to say other than that after many washings and hours and hours of wear by itself and under sweatshirts, it pretty much looks like it did when it arrived. No sagging or mis-shaping. Great product.

I bought my second long sleeve Tee (with pocket) a year or two ago, having been very happy with the previous one and all the short=sleeve pocket Tees I'd bought from LL Bean (and still wear).
I could not understand why this latest purchase was so uncomfortable until I read reviews talking about the introduction of "wrinkle free" chemicals to the product line. This explained the itchiness I experienced with it. To whom is the absence of an occasional wrinkle so important that they would contaminate an otherwise excellent product? What a shame. I've not ordered another t-shirt since. I'll give it an extra star in deference to those who don't mind a modicum of discomfort as a price for hyper-neatness.

Build quality seems good. However, the LL Bean Size Chart does not apply to these shirts. The fabric shrinks a lot. LL polo shirts I buy hold true to "Large" and are just right for me; so I thought I'd get the same with this long sleeve tee. Not so. With one wash it became uncomfortably tight with sleeves well up my forearms. This new shirt goes into the donation bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NCMustangfan I love these shirts!
I have accumulated a whole stack of them. They are a perfect fall and winter weight for layering or wearing alone. I look forward to putting these on in the morning on a crisp fall day or after work in the evening.
Some reports say they don't breathe well and that would be an issue in summer, but for the long-sleeve shirts for cooler weather it is not an issue for me.
I am sure I will buy many more!

Rated 2 out of 5 by RGAR What does "wrinkle-free" really mean?
These shirts are excellent quality; what you expect from LLBean. But there is a downside to this "wrinkle-free" hysteria that has become the hallmark of men's clothing.
These items DO NOT ABSORB perspiration very well. Cotton is comfortable because it is absorbent. When you treat it with formaldehyde it reduces the cotton's ability to absorb moisture and that makes this 100% cotton shirt very uncomfortable to wear.
I want my tee shirts to wrinkle and be able to stain, then I know they will be confortable to wear.

Rated 2 out of 5 by HehMan Unshrinkable - Not Really!
Have about 10 of these shirts. They fit perfectly when I first received them. The fit and look were perfect. They were washed as instructed in cold water. Then I noticed that the sleeve length began to shrink. Sleeve length has shrunk 1"-2" after a half dozen washes. The shrink is inconsistent but everyone one has shrunk. The "unshrinkable" claim does not hold up in actual use. This applies to black, red and yellow colors. I will attempt to return these and will buy the Tall version to compensate for the inevitable shrinking.

I got two of these shirts, one black and one "warm red." Although the construction quality seems high, and the material is very soft, smooth and comfortable, the "L. Reg" red shirt is enormous, hanging down past my crotch (and I'm just taller than 6'), while the same-sized black shirt is much smaller and shorter and snug around my not-very-fat belly. The necks on both shirts, also, have too much elastic and rest against the front of my neck, just under my Adam's apple, giving me a choking sensation, which is uncomfortable so I keep pulling it down and trying to stretch and fight with it. The "warm red," also, is actually very bright red, like florescent red. I'm really disappointed in both shirts, as I love long sleeve Ts, thought I'd found a winner, and these weren't even particularly cheap, either.
I used to shop at LL Bean much more often, but had started going to brick-and-mortar stores to try clothes on first. But then I saw a great flash-sale discount offer shared on social media and thought I'd try again. I also bought two sweaters and will review them later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by warrenisaac Love these shirts!
I got the blue, light blue, and black ones last winter, and they are still my favorite shirts! They are soft but tough, and definitely durable. I wore them working in an indoor lumber yard all winter and spring, and there was never any tears, snags, or problems!
However, just so you know, drywall does stain them...
I have been wearing them all of this winter as well. I am extremely sensitive to my clothing, and need to have the softest clothes with no tags or uncomfortable seams. And these fit the bill! Like others have said, they are a bit boxy, but that's part of the reason I like them so much. They are great shirts. Expensive, but worth the money for me. I try to stock up when they go on sale!
