The cotton on this shirt is super soft and cosy - the pile has a good depth and the thickness is what makes it so cosy. The fit is nice and loose (not clingy) - good drape and thank god the arms are plenty long enough! If I were looking for a summer long-sleeve, I would go with the pima cotton long-sleeve. But this one is perfect for fall/winter.

I have been buying Bean's t-shirts for years--my favorite is the crewneck style. They fit as if they were tailor made--neck, shoulders, sleeves--PERFECT. I especially like the fact that they are not too tight through the body, and are not too long. I am somewhat high-waisted, and these enhance my waistline. The fabric is wonderful-not too thin, not too heavy; and they last forever. They're good for either casual or dressier wear. In short, the perfect tee!

Once again, other customers influenced my purchase and are "right!" I ordered 3 for a recent trip to South Africa (it's Autumn now in SA)--beautiful blue, black and white. They provided the right warmth (there is body to material) and are soft and cozy. I ordered medium (I am between medium and small), counting on the described shrinkage--which has happened out of the dryer (needed to--and yes, sleeves are long when new). Now I will stop using dryer to preserve the fit. Otherwise, I am happy. Thanks reviewers for guiding my purchases--again!

It is hard to find a soft cotton top that is not too thin and looks good enough to wear under jackets for work. The fit was good. I bought a small and am 5'5". I will be ordering more colors.

I wrote a review for a shirt just like this a few months ago that I had to return due to it being too long in the sleeves for my petite body. Well... somehow I managed to reorder it in the exact same size and color (regular small, I wear a size 4 - 6 often in petites, in the purple shade) and it fits just fine. Good length of body and sleeves! I'm glad I "accidentally" reordered it for a second go round because I love the fit and color, but wonder how the size (especially the length) can vary so much. I have washed it and it didn't shrink. May have even used warm cycles as I usually do...

I ordered two of these shirts not so long ago and am back to order more. They are not too thin (and so, perhaps, not quite as dressy as others) but are of good quality. They are a staple I wear both under sweaters and by themselves. I am 5'5", 37" bust and the small arrives a bit large as seems to be true with most clothes from LL Bean. But I want to be able to wash my tee shirts in warm water and dry them in the dryer with my other cottons. When I do, this shrinks a bit and fits just fine. By just fine I mean not tight, but not too loose.

After getting completely sick of cheap shirts from discount stores, I finally decided to buy L.L. Bean's. I was not disappointed! It is a very soft, tightly knit material and you can see the quality when compared to the cheap stuff. It does shrink a bit in the wash, but I was hoping it would since initially it was a tad large and the sleeves were a bit long. I ordered a small and it fits perfectly. It falls at the hip, as advertised. I have a 35" bust, 27" waist and I am 5' 4", if this gives you any idea of size comparison. I am using it as an undershirt, mostly, but looks good enough to wear alone with no problem. Since it is 100% cotton, I do expect some shrinkage over time, so I will be air drying it from now on.

I've ordered several of these shirts. I work in a cold warehouse. This shirt is perfect under a sweater for warmth. Good fit if you take it out of the dryer while still damp, and let the shirt finish air drying.

I was very excited to find a great fit, color and weight of fabric in a long sleeve tee. Unfortunately, when I washed it it shrank by more than an inch in both length and width and the fabric lost its smooth texture. Very disappointing.
