Rated 3 out of 5 by Momisdreamjob Nice but shrinks A LOT!
I bought this shirt for my daughter who usually wears a medium. First I bought a large, since the reviews said the shirt shrinks, but one size up was not enough. I then bought an extra-large, and the shirt shrunk to about a medium.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Springlover2 Substantial for winter
The material is substantial for a shirt, crew neck high enough to keep me warm. Washed well, did not shrink or lose shape (cold water wash and line dry). Run true to size. Got the shirt for layering under heavy sweater for winter, or for cold spring/ fall days. In warmer days, I wear my other shirts which are thinner or having lower neck opening.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Nereid Sleeves Kinda Short
I'm 5'9", 150 or so pounds. Ordered a Small because I like the torso snug. Torso fit OK, but the sleeves were too long to be 3/4 sleeves and much too short for the long-sleeved look.
Too bad. If you're shorter than I am, or hate sleeves that touch your wrists, you might be OK with this item. The price sure is right.

Great tees. But the NAVY tees, so useful, so pleasant to wear, seem to have been discontinued. Please bring them back!

I'm not sure I would recommend this to a friend but I do like the jersey. It just shrinks way too much. I purchased several over the past few months -- when I put on the jersey before washing, it was great - I loved the fit. However, after washing & after ordering more, I found that the jersey shrank 2 1/2 inches in length!! That's huge! I will return the unopened ones & will replace them with an extra-large, to allow for the shrinkage!

Rated 4 out of 5 by JMT1414 Nice, but they do shrink
I have one of these that I've washed and dried 3 times, and another that I've washed and dried twice. In my experience, they do shrink on the first wash and dry. This is especially apparent in the sleeves, which lost a good 1 1/2 - 2 inches in length. This worked out well for me as the sleeves were too long to start and now fit perfectly. The body did not seem to shrink quite as noticeably, and continues to be a good fit for me. I've since purchased several more colors. If you like the shirt, I'd recommend buying one and putting it through a wash/dry before deciding whether or not to buy additional colors.

Perfect fit. Love the feel of the regular tee just bought (almost pima but less expensive) and do like the color I bought, BUT it is NOT Malachite Green. The item labeled Malachite Green is in fact teal. The item labeled Shade Teal Heather on the back cover of the latest catalog is actually the color of malachite. I know each person's eyes are different but you do have a significant color error here. Going by wavelength (and my eye) what you call Malachite is 475 nm (a vivid blue green/turquoise shade) and what you call Teal is closer to 500 nm (dark green, pine green). Nevertheless your tees, mocks and turtles, pima and regular are fabulous. Just wish the labeling was a bit more accurate, since it is impossible for me to see the articles in person. FYI have been a customer since 1963.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Twinklebelle please make petites!
Dear LLBean - your cotton knit Bean's Tees fabric is as great as ever. I would really appreciate it if you would make more of your cotton knit tees in petite sizes - esp the longsleeve crewneck. Otherwise they are really way too long for petites like me. Currently only the 3/4 sleeve v-neck is in petite. Thanks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Twinklebelle bring back the jewel-neck!
Dear LLBean, I love your cotton knit tees; the fabric is wonderful. But whatever happened to the jewel neck styles, longsleeve & short sleeve? They were much more elegant than the crewnecks currently available and could even be worn with semi-dress clothing. I still have some of the old jewelnecks and treasure them.
Please bring back the jewel neck!
