I had this item for years and loved it. After lots of wear and tear, I finally replaced it only to find that they had changed the design. The new one had to be replaced THREE TIMES in six months with each one having the SAME defect. The handle breaks off. Definitely not thee LL Bean quality I know.

Bought this bag several years ago, it's very good looking, but I had the same problems with the handle that other reviews have noted. It broke after a year of use, had it repaired, then one year later it broke again - is stuck and won't extend. I could get it repaired again, I guess, but I really don't have the time. For this price, I expected more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BoulderJeff Going strong after 14 years!
I bought one of these bags 14 years ago and it's STILL going strong. Pretty amazing! Over this period, I've averaged one trip per month, usually 3 to 4 days in duration. These are business trips and I typically carry:
- One suit
- Dress shirts (x3)
- Shoes (2 pairs)
- Casual shirts (x2)
- Jeans (1 pair)
- Underwear & Toiletries
- Work-related files, 30 to 50 pages
This bag has done a wonderful job of protecting its contents and it's easy to maneuver through the airport (although it would be nice if the handle was a bit longer).
In my opinion, the greatest challenge to the longevity of any bag is abuse by airline conveyor belts and baggage handlers. Due to airline abuse, the zipper on the front pocket no longer works and the rest of the bag looks a bit ratty LOL. So, I will probably replace it in the near future. I might get a carry-on, because this would avoid the airline abuse issue. But, I'll definitely buy another Bean bag. This one has been great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by redkev So far so good...
I purchased this bag to replace a TravelPro rolling garment bag that fell apart after 50,000 miles, not many miles for an expensive quality piece of luggage. The Bean bag is smaller but the construction and design seems superior to the Travel Pro. So far the Bean bag has only been on a single trip. I will provide an update on durability after the first 25,000 miles. I wish it were bigger! I had to buy an additional small Sportsman's bag to make up for the lost cubic inches.

I really like the wheeled garment bag. I would like to suggest that perhaps it needs to be a a little wider for suits. Also, if it had a few more internal pockets, where you could put things that you need to pack.
But overall, it is very well made. Should last along time.

I studied different brands of luggage and different stores when looking for a sturdy rolling garment bag and always came back to LL Beans Sportsman's rolling garment bag. I have had one of the large rolling duffle bags and it has served us well for overseas trips as well as youth camps. I would like this product even better if it were made in America.

Rated 5 out of 5 by excustomer excellent bag
This bag is very sturdy. It's solidly constructed; the zippers are heavy-duty. The bag has plenty of room: I've used it for weekend trips, but also easily handled enough clothes for a 7 day trip out of the country. In addition to the garment-bag section, it has a number of pockets, from small to large. I strongly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Travler1 A most excellent bag!
This is exactly what I've been searching for. The overall size of bag and space within is great. A sturdy but great looking bag. I am encouraged to purchase additional travel gear from LLBean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PitchRollYaw Excellent travel companion!
This is the second one I have owned. It is an excellent piece of luggage which has held up to travel around the world. Over time the piping fell apart, but the bag and the zippers are VERY solid and never had a problem even after abusing them with over stuffing. After the first one wore out over several years of heavy use LLBean had no problem with me returning it and giving me a credit to buy a new one! If I had any complaints, LLBean's return policy eliminates all of them! The bag is a little heavy but the durability is worth it and I've not gone over the weight limit at the airport, but I'm usually close.
