Our hiking socks outperform the competition, both in the lab and with testers in the field. We use premium, itch-free merino wool to wick away moisture so your feet stay comfortable while you're active. Wool/nylon/elastic blend. USA of Australian wool. Machine wash and dry.

Rated 5 out of 5�by missran Great socks - watch the size if you're on the edge Love these socks for all kinds of hiking and even plain winter wear in the moderate SF Bay area climate. Well-made and fit close to the foot. Ordered both the medium and large because I wear a women?s 9 1/2 or 10 shoe (or a men's 8 �# and the medium stopped at size 10 while the large started at 10. Also ordered a men's medium since my shoe size was smack dab in the middle of the men's medium range. Both mediums fit great. The women's large tends to wrinkle under my foot if I'm not careful so I only wear it with casual shoes #not hiking). Love 'em ... they still fit and feel like new and I've had them a couple of years. P.S. sorry I couldn't edit out those # signs which should have been parentheses ... tried several times and the system just changes them back to # signs!! April 12, 2013

I have been hiking with these socks and they are not too hot and not too thin for winter hiking- they are absolutely perfect for my new salomen hikers (also purchased here). I look forward to summer hikes with these socks, I barely notice that they are on...just the way hiking socks should be! March 15, 2013

They are not itchy and the sizing holds true even after washing! They do not shrink. I can wear them all day long and be comfortable since they are warm and not binding. March 15, 2013

Then I thought of what I do for my hands in winter : wool gloves! So I tried wool socks. Problem solved. These socks are warm and wear well. Best of all, they're not scratchy! I wash them in the washer but dry them on a rack, not in the dryer. I like the new colors. They perk up my cold weather spirits. March 13, 2013
