I live in Texas. All year round, I wear these socks and I have bought them again and again, I buy the "wisteria" which is a purple/grayish/charcoal color. It looks great with navy or black slacks. I've washed these both by machine and dryer and also by hand and drip dry. Doesn't matter. In winter the wool is cozy; in summer it keeps the feet from sweating in our hot Texas humidity. I buy either the midweight or lightweight ones. They are the one best product that I buy from Bean, and the aptly named wisteria color matches up with practically everything. Perfect for walking. Elastic top stays up and is not too tight. Best women's socks I have ever bought. May they never stop selling perfection in product and color.

Have not worn socks yet; weight seems good for shoes or boots; appear to be well made; ordered a second two-pack in another color ~ can't go wrong when using Bean coupons!

I've had socks like these for a couple of years now. I am an avid hiker and I wear them every weekend. They are light weight, but super absorbent. Not too warm or too cool, just right. I highly recommend them!

Love these socks! I have to wear hiking shoes all day because of Doctors orders. My fleece and Cotton socks both were damp and smelly after wearing all day but these are fresh and dry. I plan on ordering more soon. They have an extra wicking built in that keeps my toes happy plus high and dry.

I buy these socks often, in all weights and many colors. They are durable and really, really comfortable. The footbed is really cushy and the fabric breathes. I wear them hiking but also for every day wear with jeans. Much prefer the girly colors (seafoam green, purple) than the khaki. Would be great if they would bring navy back too.

Rated 2 out of 5 by purplecrone Very poor heel fit
I own about 8 pair of the mid-weight version of this sock and swear by them. I had no reason to expect anything less from the lightweight version. I ordered the medium size for my size 9 foot. I found that the heel on these socks is very loose. The heel fit is what the old cotton tube socks of childhood fit like. The heel wrinkles under my foot when wearing hiking boots/sneaks. When I take the boots off the heel is stretched out of shape and baggy. This is not the case with the mid-weight version of this sock. Poor design quality. Don't buy the lightweight version. LL Bean - please get in touch with your supplier of this sock.

I was tired of heels of socks going bare so looked for some good quality socks at Bean. These are it. They are not too warm for a Spring day, they fit perfectly (size M), they are attractive, and I got 2 pairs/order. I just ordered 2 more pairs in different colors.

These hiking socks provide a great amount of cushion and fit like a glove when worn with recently purchased hiking boots. Have worn them all day and only when retiring for the night did remember that had items on. LL Bean thanks for a great product

Rated 5 out of 5 by Twinmamabear I love love love these socks!
I bought these socks to go with my LLBean boots (not the hiking ones), and while they are too lightweight to wear with those boots, they are WONDERFUL with a pair of sneakers. I don't hike, but I can imagine they would be great for hiking. These socks are so incredibly soft and comfortable. I would buy more of these socks but the cost kind of holds me back for everyday use.

Wanted lightweight pair of socks that did not fit too tight around my calf. These fit the bill. The socks do have extra cushioning in the forefoot and heel so are not very light socks. Each time I put them on, I think they will be too heavy but my feet are comfortable in them and don't sweat. Wear a 6 1/2-7 shoe and medium is perfect for me with a bit extra length. Because of extra cushioning in toe area, I am aware which shoes give me more room to allow my toes to wiggle. Not scratchy. Neutral color, nice looking.
They are comfortable for long walks on pavement with my large dogs.
They wash well and air dry overnight.
