Rated 5 out of 5 by TheRocketMan Worth the money -- Lasts a long time.
I've just purchased two MORE pairs of the LL Bean supplex gym shorts. I've been wearing these to the gym, plus hiking and other activities, for years. Take 'em to the beach, too. All told, I'm wearing a pair of these probably 5+ times per week.
I take care of my clothing and all of my pairs have lasted a good long time.
About a year ago, I discovered that size L was suddenly too large. (Hah !!! All of that time spent at the gym is worth something !!)
So I purchased several pairs in size medium and they fit great and are just as durable. I just got 2 more pairs 'cuz I'm not too keen on doing laundry all the time.
My old size L were in great shape and I donated 'em to my local 2nd hand store and likely someone else is getting good use out of 'em.

I agree completely with the previous review which stated that the drawstring did not work properly. I bought these for my husband; fit was fine, but the waistband becomes too loose when the suit is wet. The drawstring does NOTHING to help adjust the waistband. I've been sewing all my life, and I tried to make the adjustment myself to the elastic in the waistband. Opened a seam in the back - wouldn't work. No adjustment can be made. So... elastic and drawstring are not well done on this suit. Other than that, the suit would have been fine!

Very comfortable except the drawstring does not work properly. It appears that the draw string is sewn in the middle at the back therefor will not tighten properly. Can not recommend this swimwear unless the draw string works properly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tapio Correction to previous review
In my previous review regarding the fading issue, I incorrectly stated the time I have owned these shorts; I have actually had them in use approx. 2 months and used them maybe a dozen times. The issue is still the same; the color fades rapidly in pool use and makes the appearance unsightly. I feel there are better, more fade resistant products on the market than these, even if they wind up costing a bit more.

Fit and function is good, but the color is fading terribly. I have worn these while swimming in a local pool approximately 8 - 10 times since I purchased them approximately 6 weeks ago and the color is no longer even close to the original color; I have an old pair I had bought a number of years ago and they faded as well, but it took over 6 months of use.
Definitely not recommended for pool use, and in all fairness LL Bean should state that in their description, might as well address the issue up front instead of later having to deal with returns and dissatisfied customers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MichiganMH fit well. Look good
I bought two of these recently for a week long scuba trip. I'm very happy with the fit. Comfortable to wear all day in and out of water. Wife says they look good too!

Rated 3 out of 5 by exerciseEnthusiast no supplex shorts for women
If these supplex shorts were available in women's sizes I would buy them. I have old LL Bean supplex shorts for women that I still wear. I wash them very carefully to try to make them last as long as possible.

These swim shorts immediately faded to funky beige from chlorine. I have never had a swim suit (in our family of 5) do this. Returning.
