by blackripleydog Great PFD
I bought my first Kokatat PFD four years ago in Freeport. Based on the salesman's recommendation that even though it was designed for a women's build, I would find it a great fit. He was right. The zipper pockets allowed me to carry plenty. It did not ride up on my back when I was in the water practicing self-rescues. All in all the best jacket I have ever owned. It had a quick release buckle strap under the zipper so I could unzip to help cool down but still remained secured in case I dumped.
I now need a new one, as someone else wanted it enough to steal it along with my Gerber Rivermaster knife.
I quess I am in for a road trip to Freeport to try this new model on for size.

This is a great jacket for men and women. All of my instructors use it and they love it. Good amount of room and you can wear it all day.

PFD is well made with nice features. But... I am large breasted and the padding across the chest has sharp edges that are very uncomfortable and might cause bruises or blisters on a long paddle. It goes back. Sigh.

Only used this once, but I am very happy with it. Does not ride up while you are paddling and it is very comfortable. For the most part, I forgot that I had it on. My husband and I both bought one (even though they say they are for women). He grew up on the water and has worn many PFDs and he thinks this one is the most comfortable he has ever worn. It has many adjustment points and lots of pockets. Definitely a good value.
