Beautiful, high-quality boots. I normally wear a 7.5 and purchased a 7--I can wear them with thin or thick socks, which makes them super versatile! They'll be great for cool, rainy autumn days or the dead of winter.
I only wish that these boots were offered in the tumbled leather; right now there's only the shearling lined boots with that option, and that's much warmer than I need for my MO climate. I'm purchasing in August to beat the fall/winter rush, so maybe more options will be out later.

Growing up just outside of Boston, we lived in these boots when we were kids so I decided to grab a new pair this year before they're back-ordered. I ordered them Friday afternoon and they arrived on Monday. I love them! I'm a size 8-8.5 and went back and forth between ordering the 7 or the 8 and ended up getting the 8. They are definitely a bit large with very thin socks but with a camp sock they fit pretty well and while I didn't have much trouble tugging them on (the tongue is sewn all the way up), I could see how this could be a problem if I went with the 7. And yes, they are very stiff, but a month of breaking them in is worth it when they'll last 30+ years! I almost can't wait til summer is over so I can wear them!

I'm obsessed with these boots! I'm usually a size 7.5, but I ordered a size 6 and it fits perfectly. I can't wait to wear these boots in the fall and winter! SO CUTE

by Truckosaurus My boots after one season of wear
I received my boots in November 2015 and wore them from December through April. Here is a photo of my boots after one season of daily wear - out walking the dog twice a day, going shopping, running errands, etc. The boots have held up very well. The tread will wear out before the leather and rubber uppers do.
I cleaned the leather once a month with a weak water and vinegar mixture, then put LLBean Boot Guard on them. I treated the rubber uppers with Armour All.
As you can see, the boots have worn in, but not worn out. Very well made. I found them comfortable with thick socks, and too loose with medium socks. I purchased the wide, because my foot is slightly wide. I probably should have bought the medium. I wear a size 12 women's shoe, and bought the size 11. I have a thumb-width of room in the toe box, which is just right.

I just received my duck boots today and am already in love! I was a little hesitant about which size to order since I am normally a size 7.5 or 8. Many reviews said a 7 would be too tight and an 8 would be too big. I decided to go with a 7 after talking with the great customer service and I couldn't be happier with the fit and quality of the product! The price is well worth it and to top it all off, they are made in the USA!

I took the advice on the site and ordered a size and a half down, because I was not buying these for extreme weather and was not going to wear thick socks. usually, my feet are a solid 8.5. I ordered a 7 M in the bean boots and my toe was RIGHT up on the end. I ordered 8 M's and I'm going to send the 7's back and I'm hoping for the best! If not, sad.

Love my bean boots! Warm, comfortable, waterproof, stylish, and durable! I walk about 7 miles a day to and from class and they have stood the test of time. They are really great to wear outside in the ice/snow with the LL Bean Ice Picks. They are comfortable enough to wear warm or cold, wet or dry. Love my beans!!
My shoe size is really about a children's four. I ordered a womens size 5. They are a little big in my toes, but fit just right with some thick socks!

Why did I wait so long to buy these boots? These boots are great. I wear them when I'm walking in the woods, often with my dog. They keep my feet dry even in very wet areas where I have to wade through muddy water. Traction is good. I wear somewhat heavy socks with them, part wool. About sizing - after a lot of thought I bought my true size 8 wide. They fit great! There's room for the heavier sock, but I've also worn them with a mid-weight sock and that worked, too.

I like the boots and got them because a friend recommended them. She ended up returning her's because she felt they were difficult to drive in. Mine are o.k. but they are unlined so my feet get cold and I can't tell if they are just cold, or wet or a combo of both at the end of the day. Plus they are difficult to get on and I guess maybe because they are big on me, they eat my socks like crazy. Otherwise they are pretty comfortable, but not what I was expecting to get for something that is handmade.

boots are very waterproof, worn in snow etc.
only complaint is it is very hard to get them on!! It is a struggle every time I go to put them on to get my foot in.
also they have been rubbing the back of my heel, I'm not sure if this is because they are new and need to be broken in, or just how it will always be....shame because they are nice boots
Wishing ll bean would make the navy and pink in the shorter style version as I feel like those would be easier to get on...
