Rated 1 out of 5 by AlexPokie Size 5 should be an option
I usually wear size 5.5 or 6 but these run large so they were very loose on me. I looked at the kids bean boots but the only color choice available for kids is dark brown on dark brown which don't look that great. I really think LLBean should hold these boots in size 5 which technically would be a size 6 (a pretty standard size in women's shoes)

I have had these boots for about three years and I would highly recommend them for wet weather. They are a great quality boot. Though they hold absolutely no heat. They really aren't good enough for the snow. Even with wool socks on my feet are frozen walking. I would suggest paying extra for the insulated boots. I just bought them now cause I am tired of having frozen feet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sabrina1029 Got my backordered boots today and love them!
I ordered these boots on November 9th. I just received them today off of backorder, they said they would be shipped on the 24th so it came early. They are super comfortable! I am usually a size 7, i ordered a size 6 and they fit great. I am currently wearing them with regular socks, when i wear thicker socks during cold months they will be maybe a bit snug but still comfortable. I love the look of them! the only downside is pretty hard to get on and off but that is it.

I owned a great pair of LL Bean insulated boots until they dried out over the summer and fell apart.
So I contacted LL Bean for a replacement pair. I was informed that they no longer carried that style. Even though they were still in the catalog. So I settled on this boot. Well I was just outside shoveling snow for about an hour and I can't feel my toes.
On top of that they are not very comfortable.
Mr.Bean give me my insulated boots back!!!!

Runs large, 4 years old, shoe is top quality and never goes out of style, perfect for jeans, leggings and casual wear in chicago winter.

Okay, so I know everyone loves these, but I really can't figure out why. For starters, the inside of the boot is pretty hard. It's straight up leather, so it's not very soft or comfortable for walking long distances (I'm a college student, so I walk a lot). In fact, the back part of the ankle scraped up my thick wool socks so much, they became thin and stained yellow from the leather.
But, for me, the worst thing about these boots was that my feet got very cold in the winter. I live in upstate NY, so I've waded through the snow in these for the past two months. They were fine at first, but we recently had some hardcore snow and my feet have been getting very cold in the toe area. I don't think snow is getting into the boots (they're pretty good about that), it's just that rubber is not the warmest material. Long story short - I'm buying new boots. I love LL Bean coats, but the boots were a disappointment for me.
Note: I also found the constant lacing up of the boots pretty annoying. That's not LL Bean's fault, of course, but I feel like it's important for shoppers to know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 4Blklabs Love my Bean boots!!
I've had my Bean boots for over 15 years and once the leather softened a bit, they became my favorite boots. I wear them during all seasons in Maine and in every kind of weather. They have worn extremely well and are the most comfortable boots I own! If my boots ever wear out, I will definitely be buying another pair!

Rated 3 out of 5 by lfrench8 Love the Shoe, Once I Wrestle it on....
I literally waited over a year for these boots (originally a Christmas 2013 gift, didn't get them until January 2015) and I love them and hate them. They are IMMENSELY difficult to get on. I love wearing them once they are on my feet, but I literally have to set aside 5-10 mins in the morning to painfully squish my feet into these shoes. I get why the tongue of the shoe is sealed, I just wish they had a little more give when putting them on! I am also sad that they don't make half sizes of these shoes. I am normally a 7.5/8. So I had originally ordered a 7, but they were MASSIVE, but now with a size 6, I feel like they just barely fit with one pair of socks :(
Other than that, they are extremely comfortable to wear day to day, I just wish they were easier to get on!

After reading many reviews, I was concerned about whether I should get my true size or a smaller one. Let me just say that I am VERY glad I ordered a size/half-size down (I alternate between a 6.5 and a 7 depending on the brand). I ordered a medium size 6 and there's a comfortable thumbs width between the tip of my toe to the end of the shoe. It is also a little wide, but not to where it's uncomfortably roomy. They fit perfectly with fuzzy socks but can also be worn with regular ones with a little wiggle room.
These shoes are extremely well made, they look and feel great, and are also surprisingly light!! I'm sure I'll enjoy wearing them around and breaking them in :)
I recommend this product as it is well worth the money AND the wait. Happy shopping!
