I normally wear a 7 B shoe and a 6 1/2 B boot. Ordered these in a 6 B & they fit like a 7 1/2 D shoe would on me. Plenty of room for extra thick socks, but not too much. Very comfortable. A little difficult to pull on and off, but will get easier when the leather wears in a bit. I've had plenty of practice with two weeks of endless rain in NC. They were well worth the four month wait and I expect to get many years of wear out of them & look good doing it! Bonus: Made in USA

Rated 2 out of 5 by CampingAuntie Unable to get foot in boot
I purchased these boots for my daughter's birthday. She has wanted them fo a while so we read the reviews and followed sizing guidelines. No matter how we tried, she could not get the boot on. Very disappointed, had to send them back. We're not going to order larger size because she's concerned that because of her high instep she will still have trouble getting them on. So sad because she really loves these boots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RebeccaSinVA Fit is tricky
Based on the reviews, I originally ordered a 7 instead of an 8 that I normally wear. When I received the 7's, I could not get my foot through to the bed of the shoe. I tried and tried and eventually got them in and the bed of the shoe fit fine but I was not going to struggle to get the boots on every time I wanted to wear them. I sent them back for an 8 (my normal size). They arrived today and I can get them on much easier. I have about an inch past my toe extra room but it was worth being able to get them on and off easier. So glad I have these now just in time for fall/winter weather.

by MWPAlexandria tongue wrinkle?
Just received my beautiful bean boots. Very excited. I ordered a size down (6 wide) and they are still a little loose but don't think I will be able to get them on with 2 pairs of socks -- they are tough to get your foot into even with one pair. Also, the tongue is very wrinkled -- it doesn't lie flat. I'm not sure if that's an indication that they're too wide (they don't feel too wide on inside), or if that's just the way they are? I imagine once they get wet, all the leather will loosen up but that might make tongue even bigger and wrinklier. Any thoughts on the wrinkled tongue? 3 stars for now until I decide to keep or not. Thanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dynomiiite So far, so good!
I've only had these boots for a while, but so far they're working out. Soo(!) comfortable, i have stood in them for hours without my feet hurting, and they don't feel heavy at all, even if they're a tad large. I typically wear a 9 1/2, so I went down to the 9, and there weren't any regulars so I took my chance with the Narrow, and wouldn't you know? It was exactly what I needed! They fit with room to spare for cozy socks and I'm glad I took the chance with the narrow.
They were a tad hard to pull on at first, despite the fit, but after two days of breaking them in they've been much better. I love these boots<3

First let me say that these are absolutely beautiful boots and I've wanted them for years.. finally decided to pull the trigger on Tuesday. So excited when the box arrived today!! I'm normally a side 7 1/2 so I ordered a 6 as recommended and I am a normal to slim size 37 yr mom looking for a fall/winter "go to"classic boot for running errands, camping and working outside. I also wear 4" heels every day to work and never have any issues, so I know how to wear a shoe. I have many pair of no zipper boots and never had an issue. I chatted online with a rep about sizing as I was on the edge about ordering a medium vs. wide. She said to go for the medium because the boots were way oversized... my gut said wide so I went with it, and am I glad I did. I have no idea how people get their feet in these boots, the tongue is sewn to sides which make it quite difficult for me. I guess I should have known that but I didn't. It took my husband, pair of scissors, a lot of pain and over 30 minutes to finally get them on, and once on?no problems.Beautiful?size 6 was perfect, wide was comfortable and I was starting to feel better about my purchase even though I had to cut the beautiful leather to get them on. But, getting them off, unfortunately was even more painful and I couldn't do it myself. I'm so disappointed that I just spend $110 on boots and they are really beautiful and well built, I'll probably never wear because it took way too much effort to put on and take off. Just putting this out there because out of all the reviews I read, I never saw this problem. I love LL Bean and will continue to shop there but can't endorse these boots...I'm feeling really bummed?sigh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by angiekcbus Ordered Down
I have read these reviews for two years before pulling the trigger. I was sure to order extra early to get by winter. I wear a 8.5 in almost all shoes, sometimes an 8 in dress shoes. I ordered these in a 7 and they fit with socks. Not sure they will fit with lots of thick socks, but that's not important to me. I have another pair of deep winter boots. I also have a wider foot and these (medium) fit almost perfect. The slightest snug, but not enough to be uncomfortable.
I ordered my husband the thinsulate insulated version, he wears a 10 and the size 10 fit him perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JLMum Most comfortable boots
I followed the recommended sizing and order an 8 when I usually where a 9, they fit perfect and are so comfortable! I wear them with a pair of merino wool socks and they keep my feet toasty warm. I got the navy color and they look great with jeans or khaki style pants. I love these and can't wait for them to get that "worn in" look! I look forward to many years with these quality boots.

Everybody should own a pair of Bean Boots in my opinion. If you don't own them yet, you need to order them! I am usually a size 9, and ordered a size 8 and they fit perfectly. I ordered my Bean Boots a year ago, but am only writing a review now as I have had several months to wear and enjoy them. I wore them everyday during the fall and wintertime (in The Netherlands) and they have not disappointed. I am an avid walker and these have been surprisingly comfortable to wear on my very long walks. No blisters, pain or discomfort at all. And of course the quality is amazing and withstands the rain, snow, freezing temperatures, sunshine etc. Not to mention that they are very cute, flattering and timeless on. A classic that everybody should own!

Rated 3 out of 5 by PrepBean If the shoe fits...!
I am normally a 7.5 in all shoes. After reading a lot of reviews I decided to order 3 pairs: 6M, 7N, 7M. The 6M was way too small..I was able to get my foot in, but it was not comfortable. The 7M arrived next and fit like a glove. Very comfortable, enough room for different thickness of socks/pants, etc. I would say to only order the narrow if you actually have a narrow foot. My only complaint is that since the tongue is sewn to the sides it makes it a little difficult to tuck in. But, overall very happy...and very happy I ordered them early in the season!
