I've had a couple of pairs of Bean Boots in my younger years - do not remember them being this comfortable - love them ! I bought the unlined black pair - the leather is extremely soft. I am a solid 9+ and the size 8 fits perfectly.

Okay so i am a sophomore at Auburn University and these boots are very popular. All my friends had them and wore them all the time so when i got home for summer after my freshman year i decided that i wanted a pair. I was freaking out about sizes because i wear shoes ranging from an 81/2-91/2 (most of the time i wear a 9). I didn't think a 7 would fit so i ordered an 8 and they are perfect. Defiantly follow l.l.beans sizing advice. I wear the boots with thick socks when its cold in Auburn (which isn't that often) but mostly i wear them with tall athletic socks and they fit fine and keep me warm! These are my favorite pair of boots! I work with animals outside, and they are great for that, and they are also good for a cold rainy day! Buy them and you will be happy! My mom has a pair that she has had for 15 years and they are still in good condition! I hope mine will last that long too!

Got them for my highschool age daughter's birthday. She wears them all the time, at school and at home in the fields. They never go out of style and the guarantee makes them unbeatable.

I needed a black boot for spring and fall birding and also to wear on the way to work on rainy days. Look great for travel too.
Heeded the advice to size down. I wear a size 8.5, but ordered a 7 and it's great. Can wear midweight socks with it. (Earlier this winter bought a pair of size 8 shearling lined bison which I LOVE).
Black color is really classy.

I bought these to wear for puddles and mud. They've worked beautifully.
They also specified to order one size smaller and I was pleased with the toe room and fit.

Bought these for my daughter. She loved the looks but the leather upper around the ankle is way too stiff and makes it uncomfortable for her. Will return unfortunately.

After reading reports that they ran large, I was hesitant to order my usual size but I'm glad I did! I've found with boots, it is best to use a nice comfy sock - that's what I used with these and they were perfect! They were purchased for personal use but also for some volunteer work I do with the local wildlife refuge. I needed something to protect my feet from all the wetlands I tromp through but also comfortable enough to drive in - these fit the bill completely. Love, love, love them!

These boots are exactly what I thought they'd be. I've decided to get the thinsulate ones as these are not very warm. I was afraid I'd be too warm running errands in the thinsulate ones, but I rather be a little warm in them, than a little cold in these. Even with mid-weight socks, my toes were getting a little cold.
Defintely adhere to the sizing information. I usually wear a 7.5/8 and I ordered the 7; they are plenty big!

These boots are fantastic, year-round waterproof boots. Buy the unlined version and get the optional lining (and/or Stabil-icers) to maximize your use. My family has owned Bean boots for years and the quality cannot be beat. They ALWAYS keep my feet dry, even after years of use. No, they are not your typical "Wellies" but these rugged boots are a timeless classic all their own.
NOTE: These boots run long in the toe, buy a half-size down (at least).

I've wanted some of these boots my whole life. Finally had to have something waterproof that I could wear for fun, and decided to bite the bullet and buy a pair. I wear a 9 1/2 Regular Width. I can't wear a 9 and I can't wear a 10. All my shoes have to be a 9 1/2. I read these ran big (and don't come in half sizes). I ordered a 9 and it made me look like I had clown feet. Returned got an 8 and it is perfect. I ordered the 8" height. You do need to wear a thicker sock. Unlaced they go on fine. The tongue is sewn to the shoe, but that keeps water out. The only thing I don't like is the strings. They are stiff (but strong); I just happen to like a limp string. They feel great and fit great. And, I always feel good when I buy American and support our country. These shoes will probably last me forever. Buy them; you'll love them.
