Loving my Bean boots! I highly suggest getting fitted in a store before ordering. My boots fit perfectly and were well worth the wait. I have never owned a pair of boots that are so comfortable and the waterproofing is amazing.

I ordered these in size 9W tan/brown on January 1st, when they were scheduled to ship on March 15th (I think). I then got the notification that they wouldn't ship until April, in which I was disappointed. I'm getting ready to go on a mission trip and I needed a good pair of boots. I got the notification 2 days ago that my boots had shipped, which surprised me! I thought I wasn't getting them for another month. I got them today, tried them on, they're extremely comfortable. They do run big, but I intentionally ordered them wider than I needed so that I could tighten them up if I'm wearing thinner socks but also wear thicker socks in the winter. I work at a summer camp and I need a pair of boots that I can wear around at work and then just walk around in on a rainy day, for which these are perfect. LL Bean, I'm impressed! Thank you!

These boots are simply amazing! After pining over these for quite some time, I decided to bite the bullet and order these in December with full knowledge that they were on backorder. At that time, they were set to ship on March 5th. However, in February I received an email from LL Bean saying they had been delayed until April 4th! I was so sad and naturally a little upset. But then, I received a postcard in the mail along with a tiny package. Inside I found a key chain exact replica of the boot! I was insanely impressed with LL Bean's customer service. They kept me informed the whole time. Then, on March 3rd, I woke to an email from LL Bean notifying me my boots had been shipped! I was ecstatic - they were coming early! They arrived two days later and I immediately laced them up. Wow, they were good-lookin. I wore them the next day for 8+ hours and wow, they were comfortable. I totally forgot I was wearing brand new shoes. That afternoon, after trudging through the snow covered path on my daily dog walk I thought wow, these are warm! Even in the short time that I've had them, I am so glad that I decided to splurge- these boots rock and so does LL Bean.

I just received my back ordered boots today and I absolutely love them! As far as sizing, I am normally an 8.5 and I ordered an 8, as I plan on wearing mid-weight socks with them. There is plenty of room for thick socks, yet my feet aren't swimming in the boots. Also, they are very comfortable. I had no trouble with the boots not being broken in; they were comfortable right from the start. All in all, I am in love with these boots!

These boots are great! I've been able to use them in the harsh upstate NY winters and they've kept my feet warm and dry! I am usually an 8.5 and sized down to an 8 for these and they fit great! I'm looking forward to many more years of use from these!

I own many bean boots but my 8" is in need of replacement. As always, I am happy with them. I wear a 7.5-8 shoe but bean boots do not have half sizes. I ordered both a 7 & 8 to see which worked. LL Bean reps were right when they suggested I order down versus up. I am sending the 8 back & keeping the 7. Thank you LL Bean! You make a wonderful product right here in the USA! Great customer service and return policy too!!

by Lebenny "All Season" Shoe with Pros and Cons
I'm still on the fence about this shoe so am giving it 3 stars. It's very basic, no frills, and has a classic look. These boots are great for wet mild winter days and spring and fall. They are waterproof and will keep your feet dry unless you jump in deep water. However, they are not the most comfortable shoe, which is their biggest drawback. They also won't keep your feet warm for extended periods in frigid temperatures. Sizing could be a problem if you have small feet as these run large and the attached tongue can make slipping them on and off a challenge.
Quick assessment of pros/cons:
-"All Season" shoe; can be worn year-round... if you live in a mild climate or have a nice thick pair of socks and don't spend hours out of doors in the winter
-Classic look, though I initially found them to be a bit ugly. Much prefer the look of the Navy color to the greenish brown that was available in store
-LL Bean return policy is phenomenal if you don't like these
-Zero insulation; see above 'all season pro'. Bought these in winter and don't think they are good for stomping around in snow or cold for extended periods of time. Much preferred my LL Bean Snow boots.
-Runs large and size 6 is smallest option. Forget about these if you wear anything smaller than a 6 normally.
-Initially tight and can be hard to get on (especially with thick socks) but this improves with wear
ELABORATION ON ABOVE POINTS:
I bought these boots as a replacement to an old pair of actual snow boots I owned for many years but that bit the dust after 6 years of non-use in Florida. Upon moving back North, the rubber on my snow boots cracked, mainly due to their exposure to extreme temperatures between FL and MD. LL Bean was awesome about taking the busted boots back, which was really wonderful. Unfortunately, the in-store options for replacement boots were really a big let down. There weren't any remaining snow boots as it was late in the season (February) and the store carried only 2 options for women's bean boots (these and the 10" Sherling-lined option) in only one color (greenish brown for these and dark brown for the 10" Sherling). I found this surprising given the store's size and location in a prominent and affluent area.
After some consideration, I decided to purchase these in the greenish/brown color (I wish I'd known a Navy option was available online!) in a size 6. I usually wear a size 6 and these run large, so they do tend to slide around but with a thick sock it's not a big deal. The flip side to this is that thick socks make it a bit harder to get the shoe ON, since the tongue is attached for waterproofing. I'm noticing this improves with wear, though it does require some force to shove on the foot. I've also been wearing them untied to more quickly slip on and off, so that makes the slipping more prominent. They'd probably be fine if I tied them like a normal human.
Perhaps what I am least satisfied with in this shoe is the lack of cushioning. It's really very basic and offers no support. Insoles could be purchased (LL Bean sells sherling-lined ones) but I'd really rather the shoe came with more cushion and would even pay the $10-20 more for that feature.
My second biggest complaint is that these shoes have no lining/insulation. However, I see LLBean.com sells other Bean Boots with lining... so I think this complaint is more geared towards the lack of selection that my local LL Bean store had in stock when I was there. This particular Bean Boot option is more appropriate for all seasons, which can actually be seen as a pro. I'm sure they'll be awesome in the rainy spring time when it's not as cold out. However, as a replacement to a true snow boot these are a bit disappointing. Next winter I'd be happier if I purchase a true snow boot to replace the pair I lost this year. Just couldn't justify the additional cost for the Sherling-lined ones available in the store when spring is coming soon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AlexPokie Size 5 should be an option
I usually wear size 5.5 or 6 but these run large so they were very loose on me. I looked at the kids bean boots but the only color choice available for kids is dark brown on dark brown which don't look that great. I really think LLBean should hold these boots in size 5 which technically would be a size 6 (a pretty standard size in women's shoes)

I have had these boots for about three years and I would highly recommend them for wet weather. They are a great quality boot. Though they hold absolutely no heat. They really aren't good enough for the snow. Even with wool socks on my feet are frozen walking. I would suggest paying extra for the insulated boots. I just bought them now cause I am tired of having frozen feet.
