Very well made and worked to perfection in recent -16F temps. Couldn't ask for more.

Because of my height, I purchased these pants unhemmed. There was just enough fabric for my tailor to sew a hem. The reason I got these is I could not find winter overalls in my leg length.
I wore these pants to shovel snow during the several below zero F days we had here in Northern Illinois. I could not be more pleased. I was warm on the bottom half despite being outside several hours.
You do need to wear these with comfortable long johns because they are made of the wool fabric that will make you scratch like crazy.
I am really happy I went this route.
I intend to only wear them when it is frigid, so, assuming I don't put on the pounds, I hope to get several years out of them.

Somewhat windproof, but warm nonetheless. I would rather be wearing these while standing on the elevated subway platform than my cords.
But after several hours of wear they start to iiiitch. Even though I can live with it, I wish they were lined in a thermal type satin (one that does not conduct the cold).
I have more than one pair, and I rotate them -- Take good care of them and they will last and last.

Short Story? If you want a classic, well made, heavy grade outdoor wool pant without frills (insulation, lining, etc.) look no further. Buy these.
Not that my opinion means more than someone else but I make my living testing outdoor products and providing manufacturers with outdoor product research.
-If you take the time to actually measure yourself correctly, the fit chart almost guarantees a perfect fit. If you wing it or use what you've always used for measurement then you may be disappointed.
-High quality, heavy grade wool fabric definitely delivers the old-school scratchy wool feel and all the insulation properties we expect. I tested these wearing Under Armour Cold Gear pants. No way I'd ever put this wool directly against my skin.
-Excellent to perfect stitching means these wool pants have held up extremely well in Blue Ridge Mountain hunting and while teaching winter survival skills.
-Buttons for suspenders and waist closures stitched tight and multiple thread passes through the button look promising for longevity.
-High quality YKK zipper will definitely last.
-Wool without lining is wool. Unless it's Merino wool (which these pants are not) it's going to be an uncomfortable wear. The wind will blow right through any wool pants. If you're stand hunting you're going to need some wind breaking protective over pant like Wind Stopper or Gore Tex. If you're still hunting (moving) you'll be fine.
-Price point is solidly on the higher end of the spectrum but in this case, you're definitely getting what you pay for.
Conclusion? Buy them if want a good quality, long lasting outdoor wool pant. You won't win any fashion shows but that's not why you buy a product like this.

Much thinner than the originals. These should be considered medium weight at best. Polar fleece lined canvas with a cold weather wicking layer next to the skin offers more warmth and durability at lower cost.
The one plus is the fact that these do not have the noisy nylon layer on the inside.

I have worn the pants several times since purchase and I wish I had bought it years ago. It fits so well and has the warmth of wool that I desired for all my outside uses ( hunting, fishing, etc.). Thanks for great products. Dan

I purchased two pairs of these pants one in olive and the other in the heavier weight camp pattern. the olive pants appear well constructed and are plants warm as stand alone pants in cooler temperatures. The camp pattern pants I was disapointed in the heavy weave of the wool. They did not present with the same tight weave as the olive pants. I have several wool articles of clothing from other manufacturers and know that just because there is a heavier oz. weight does not mean that the weave feds to be heavy. I t almost appears loose when compared with the olive pants. I utilized the camp pattern pants for white tail hunting this season, and with long underwear they served there purpose, but with the heavier weave I do not know if i would count on then in colder temperatures.

Why wear denim and freeze? It's cold in Canada. Wear wool. Great pants at a good price. Contrary to instructions, they are washable (cold). Air dry. Will last for years. I own two pairs, in green.
