I wear these socks every day --- not just for hikes. I've finally found my comfort zone in these. The design of the socks provide great support without being too snug as long-distance hiking socks can be. A great sock that I hope LL Bean continues to make for many years. My only concern is that the supply seems to run out too soon in the late springtime for the lightweight versions.

I've ordered these socks before and over the years they have become my standard "casual" socks. Comfortable, sturdy, easy to put on, great color availability.

I thought I had ordered the "Smart Wool" socks but received the Hiking Socks instead. They are decent although a little long and do not provide the same level of cushion as the Smart Wool socks purchased at your Danbury, CT store. However I had worn and washed the socks before noticing the difference (except the lower level of cushion),

I wear a l2 narrow women's shoe and have very thin feet. The medium size socks fit perfectly. They feel great. I can wear them with ordinary shoes in place of the two pairs of thinner socks I otherwise need
to fill my shoes. I did have to cut off the top edge, because it was
constricting my leg, but the socks don't unravel when you do that, and
they then form a narrow white cuff at the top, which could be seen as a feminine touch. I will continue to wash these socks in cold water, without agitation or wringing, in hopes they will remain a perfect fit.

I bought three pair of these last year. They work well, never had a blister walking hundreds of miles in them. The only complaint I have is that they seemed to have shrunk after being washed and dried so often. They are fairly tight on the calf. I take a large sock, size 10 1/2 shoe size and they are a bit snug when I first put them on, but loosen up some around the foot after being worn around for a while. They are a little heavy weight for summer hiking, so I'm going to try the ascent socks this year for the planed hikes up Katahdin.

I love Bean's Cresta socks. With my recent purchase, I now have 6 pair. They are my favorite cold weather socks and wear them for all occasions.

I bought six pair two years ago and they were excellent. Bought four pair last month and I was disappointed. The newer ones are not only more expensive but they are thinner (less wool) than the originals. Also the fit has changed - the large size of the newer sox is a bit too large, even after several washings. The originals fit perfectly. After two years the originals have pilled and some develop rips along the top seam but I still prefer to wear them over the newer ones.

I used these wool socks for hiking our bike path. Unlike my other socks, they allowed me to complete my walk without loosening the skin on the balls of my feet.
