Rated 2 out of 5 by Bostonmailman rubber ripped after a few uses
Using them in the snow and ice, well straight ice forget it. you will slip. After a few uses the rubber broken up near the front. I have no idea why, but I will be returning them. Poorly made after such a short time using them. and if you walk on road surfaces the screws on the bottom wear out extremely fast. Being a mailman I walk from bare road to ice and snow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HorseGirl1 Awesome product!
I work on a horse farm in upstate NY. These work great in the slippery winter conditions. I originally had Yak-trax which constantly fell off....so annoying...I had to then go look for them! And, they broke after one week of use. Definitley not tough enough for 12 hour work days in the snow. The Stabilicers are totally different! Haven't fallen off once and are so much more durable. They are great! Received the wrong size as a gift, LLBean was more than awesome during the exchange period and sent me a return label so I could return and replace for free!! Awesome experience all the way around! Thank you LLBean!!

I am a mailcarrier in the Boston area. I wear these over my muck boots I got at llbean. you need to order a larger size than your boots in order for them to fit. They seem custom made for the Maine Boots but I use them on my Arctic Muck boots. The work great when the front does not come off or you are walking on ice or a slick floor surface. If you are on bare ice, forget it, nothing will keep you from slipping.
As for the coming off, the single piece of velcro they give you to hold each ice cleat to your boots will hold the heel potion fine, but if you trample through heavy or deep snow as I do, the front is bound to come off and flop around. So to fix this, I got some more velcro and made a front strap for each cleat. they stay on great now and I am glad I got them. but as I said you will need to do this custom adjustment if you have non-llbean-maine boots.
Perfect for all mailmen.

I bought these as a gift for my son who now lives in Iceland. He has been very enthusiastic in his praise of them. The Velcro straps make him feel secure enough for jogging although he spends a lot more time pushing a carriage around the walking paths in Reykjavik.
My husband is thinking about getting me a pair also. He wants me to be safe while I am out shoveling our steep driveway.
What more could I want.

Anyone with a dog who lives anywhere that ever gets ice needs these! I have owned many other types of ice spikes, but these are the best so far. For one, they're not so sharp you destroy your carpet if you forget to take them off the moment you walk into the house (although they would ruin a hardwood floor). For another--the straps!
I've already recommended them to everyone I know. Love them!

Went right onto my running shoes. The strap works fine I just worry about the way it is attached to the rubber that it could break if you tighten it too much, but it doesn't need to be that tight to stay on so works fine

Rated 4 out of 5 by GrandmaDR A good idea, but
I'm giving these a high rating since a friend of mine loves hers, but I could not get them on my boots even though I ordered the recommend size! The style, the way they work, everything about them seems perfect, however, if you can't get them on, they are not much useful. I wish someone would come up with something like this for us older people which would be easy to put on and take off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jericho Sizes are too small!
This is one of the few items I have ever returned to LL Bean. I was optimistic that the Stabilicers would work well because they looked sturdy but then I saw the pointed toe (like on a women's high heel)and then had a feeling that it wouldn't fit over my trusty LL Bean Snow Sneakers. Sure enough, the Small, which is supposed to fit a Woman's size 8 to 9 1/2 didn't come close to fitting my 8 1/2 boot.
If you are going to order these, and don't have pointy toed boots !) be sure to order UP. I didn't order a different size because I didn't know if even a larger size would work on my LL Bean boots.

by frantaK good traction - Size large is too small
Having the original stabilicers, which are excellent but rather heavy, I was looking for a lighter product.
This product provides a great traction and is much easier to carry.
The problem is that the size Large cannot be fitted on a shoe size 45 (EU).

Rated 4 out of 5 by TheGlacierGirl Great grippers but work best with sleeker boots
I ordered these Stabilicers to replace another brand which never lasted more than a season. I wear a size 8 boot, ordered the Small and found that the toe of the Stabilicer doesn't fit well over my regular winter boots. It's pointy and not really wide enough to fully slip over the toe. As a result, it doesn't fully extend along the bottom of my boot and the heel isn't as far back as I'd like it. My husband and I hike in the snowy northern Michigan woods every day and I really need something to "bite" when the conditions are icy. They are excellent "grippers," but I fear that I'll be sending them back because they just don't fit the way I'd expected.
