I am in love with these boots! In the winter I travel between the Northeast and the Midwest, so I wanted a pair of boots that could withstand all the elements as well as some wear and tear, and I have to say, these boots do not disappoint! I wear them as both rain boots and snow boots and am very happy with them. The stiff leather uppers do take a little breaking in, but the boots were still very comfy on the first wear with good support. I am a 7.5 normally with what I consider slightly wider feet, and I ordered a 6 and can still wear them comfortably with thick wool socks and ample room in the toe box. I wear them with both jeans and leggings comfortably (though I have to wear them with skinny jeans as a lot of denim stuffed into the uppers tends to be a little uncomfortable) and I think they're very stylish in a classic sort of way- overall, nothing but happiness here!

I ordered these boots in preparation for the messy New England Weather that we always get in the fall and winter. I wore them for the first time this week, and they tore my feet to pieces. I've never had so many blisters from a shoe of any kind as badly as this, on the backs of my heels and even on the outside of each foot. Fortunately LL Bean says they'll take them back. I was really hoping and expecting these would work, so I'm pretty disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Temmy Fantastic product, impressive customer service
I could not be happier with my new bean boots. The quality is unparalleled and I'm happy to support a U.S.-made product. Best customer service and shopping experience I've had in a while. I normally wear a size 8-8.5 shoe and the size 7 boots fit me perfectly. Thank you for a great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by eranfaraway Great boots, but watch out for wet rocks!
I usually wear an 8 but ordered a 7 and they fit great with my heavy socks! I have only had them for a week so I cannot attest to their durability but I don't worry about defects with LL Bean's warranty. They are extremely comfortable and perfect for hunting in the Northwest. I will note that you should be wary of wet rocks and tile in these, they are REALLY slippery in those circumstances! So happy to find a reasonably priced hunting boot made in the USA!

First time buying from LLBean. Very fast, efficient. I read the customer reviews on fit. Very helpful. I normally wear a 8.5 or 9. I ordered the 8. It fits perfect still room to wear a thick sock.

LL Bean's sizing information is in fact 100% correct. I usually wear an 8/8.5 narrow so I ordered a 7 normal width (narrow width wasn't an ordering option on these unfortunately). I was apprehensive (I've NEVER fit into a size shoe), but these fit just PERFECTLY with thicker, winter-typical socks, and I honestly don't think they feel too big with regular socks either! I'm moving up to NYC and can't wait to see how these work out in the midst of snow and slush!

Rated 5 out of 5 by BakaMonsterDC beautiful boots
I live and work in DC so I needed boots that are comfy and practical for my walk to and from the metro and walking my dogs on wooded paths in Rock Creek park, these are exactly that. They're lbs lighter then my old Sorel's, which could be because my old boots are 10+ years old, but still awesome. I followed others recommendations and sized down from my normal size 10 to a 9, they fit nicely with both a thick wool sock and a thinner one as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ProfG Great Boot!
Living in Memphis we have winters that are cool (40s and 50s) but rather wet, so good boots are a must. I dithered a lot on sizing, especially since my size was back ordered for 6 weeks (despite me ordering them in the beginning of May). I'm an 8 1/2, and I ordered an 8. With light socks, they fit great if I add in an insole. The fit is wonderful with heavy socks, or two pairs of merino socks, without the additional insole. I haven't tried them for warmth yet, since it's now 90 degrees, but I did stand in a tub of water to my ankles and the boots kept my feet completely dry! Looking forward to whatever winter brings this year.

by LLBEANCUST1 Had to buy these too..and so glad I did!
Just received my Maine Hunting Shoe 10" and i've been wearing them almost every day. Glad that I got them before the April 22 date #since they were backordered# cause this way I am able to wear them a little longer in this weather. I am regularly size 10, got the 9 and wear them with regular thin socks and they are most comfortable. The leather is a little stiff at first but as I already know from the earlier ones I got, that they break in very quickly and soften right up. I have worn them laced all the way up the first time but I prefer leaving the top two free now and alittle more loose , I think it's more comfortable for me. Now I have these, my black ones 8" and a pair of mocs. I plan on getting a pair in Blue #Mocs# for next year in either the Green or Fuschia. I did notice however that the heel seems to be wearing out quickly and probably because I don't walk on 'forest floors' but on concrete city streets and the office floor. I called Cust Svc with my concern as to what I could do when they are worn down and they told me to just return or exchange or they would re-sole - whatever I preferred.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RunLoveLLbean Perfect All Around-Fits for High-Arch people
I first ordered the maine hunting boots with gortex, but the thinsulate did not fit my feet at all. When these finally came, they fit perfectly!! With regular socks they are a little roomy, but still very comfortable, and if I lace them tightly it is fine. With thick socks (Wigwam wool socks), they are the most comfortable boots ever. I ordered size 8 and I am size 8. Also, I have extremely high arches, yet with these unlaced partially, I can get them on with ease even with thicker socks. With the thinsulate ones, I could not even get my foot into the thinsulate layer due to my arch. I have tried a size 7 (my mom's, but they are also more narrow), and it is a bit of a struggle to get them on with thin socks on and fully unlaced, because of my arches. I have my Mom's old maine hunting boots, which are very comfortable, but the padding is pretty worn down. I was surprised at how squishy the padding in these boots are, they are like walking on a cloud! Also, do to this nice padding, it took zero time to break the shoes in. I have not gone on any longer hikes with them yet, but I have worn them around all day at school and was comfortable the entire time (which is important because I run Cross Country). I love the dark brown color as it goes with so many different outfits!
