This is my second pair of 10" Maine hunting boots and they're the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. There is no "break in" period, they're comfortable to wear straight out of the box. They're so comfortable you feel as though you're wearing a pair sneakers. These boots are light weight and very quiet in the woods.
These are the perfect boot for hunting in spring and fall - a little cold for winter hunting. I also wear these boots to walk the dog and they have proven time and again to be the ideal boot to wear in wet weather.
When the stitching on my original boots started to come apart (after 3 years of abuse and several hundred miles of walking) I immediately ordered a new pair. The new pair feel as comfortable as my originals - I hope to get many more miles with this pair.
The sizing of the boots is a little odd - I usually wear a size 11 shoe, but I have these boots in a size 9 and I wear 2 pairs of thick socks! Please be aware of this when ordering. Otherwise they are an awesome boot!

The first pair I bought was nearly 20 years old and was like wearing a pair of sneakers... After visiting the local Shoe Hospital and was told they were just to old to repair, there was no doubt as to if i was going to purchace another pair...The new ones are almost as comfortable as the old one's, I just need to get the leather upper half broke in with a little saddle soap and they will be perfect. I have learned all good leather needs this little extra attention to not only last, but to be the most comfortable...I am a hunter in the deep South and wear them all year long, even in our extreme heat, they are still the best boot I've ever put on my feet. Give them a try, you won't be diappointed.....

I have been wearing your 10" Main Hunting Shoes for almost 10 years now and have just ordered and received a third pair. (Without wearing our my first pair! ) I initially bought my first pair to hunt Deer and Turkeys in, since they were advertised to be quiet and sure-footed on the forest floor, besides being waterproof. I was somewhat skeptical at first since I had tried regular boots of this style with the harder rubber soles and found them to be very slippery on wet or smooth surfaces. This doesn't occur in the hunting "Shoes". They stuck to all ground surfaces with amazing traction. With this knowledge it didn't take me long to order another pair to play golf in and found them to be better than golf shoes! They offer more traction, plus ankle support and water proofing - also they protect the surface of greens better than even the the new style cleats. I have never had the slightest foot slippage, even on serious slopes or wet surfaces.
Can "Maine Golfing "Shoes" be far behind?

I got these boots because I do a lot of work in the mud/dirt and wanted something rubber to stay clean. These boots are awesome. I was a little unsure of the look at first but now I even find myself going to the store of class in them. I will wear them for 12 hours and forget I have them one.
Great American made product.
order a size smaller, trust me.

This is an incredbile boot that looks as good as it is efficient. The note on the product said to get a size smaller. I did and it was still a little large; but they do not run in half sizes so I imagine 2 sizes smaller would be too small. I will just wear 2 pair or insulated socks.

It had been many years since my last order with LL Bean. But I soon found out that it was as if nothing had changed. There was still the same great service and selection of goods I had grown up with. Another plus was that the person I talked with on the phone spoke perfect english and was very helpful and courteous. Some things never change and LL Bean is right up there with the things that are still great !!!

I picked up these boots with the intention to wear them hunting. I was worried about the fit, being I normally wear a 15-16, but was told they run big. So I went with the 14, and to my happy surprise, they fit well. I spend 100+ days in the woods a year, and they haven't let me down yet.....Very happy with the traction and construction......Thanks L.L. Bean!!......great boots!

I have used LL Bean boots for over 30 years. Their quality is unsurpassed. Customer service is excellent. I would highly recommend these boots or anyone of their other products.

These boots broke in after just a few wearings and are the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. Seriously. They are completely waterproof in my experience. The included laces are a bit on the cheap side, but serviceable.
The flaw: the soles are made of a very soft material (probably why they are so comfortable) and wear down unusually fast. Now I will admit I wear these primarily in an urban environment - think concrete and asphalt, not grass and dirt - and that could have something to do with it.
Now I've read they will resole them for you (about $50 I hear) which I will likely do in the near future, but with these less than 1 year of occasional use, I find the level of wear to be unacceptable.

My husband bought a pair of Maine Hunting Boots a few years ago and says they're one of the best pair of boots he's ever owned. A month ago, after eyeing the women's Bean Boot for years, I finally bought a pair of 10" shearling-lined boots. I've been wearing them hiking a lot in the snow and slush ever since. They are extremely comfortable, warm, durable, and keep moisture out! It's a bit of a chore lacing them up, but once you do they're very supportive and the laces don't come undone. My husband's Hunting Boot has no shearling lining, which works great with normal conditions. But, he ended up buying the full shearling insert for the extremely cold days. As an example of how comfortable these boots are, my husband took a nap wearing his Hunting Boots after cutting wood yesterday. And, I have been known to start cooking dinner wearing them, forgetting I have them on. Oh, and they look great too! We couldn't be happier with our Bean boots and highly recommend them!!!
