Allow me to be to the point:
- I wear a size 11 tennis shoe. As others have noted, I ordered the Maine Hunting Shoe in size 10. With Powerstep insoles, and Smartwool medium hikers, the fit is perfect. Simply order a size smaller than your tennis shoe size and you're set.
- I had read online one could special request speed eyelets. Girl on the phone was initially unaware of such but checked. "Turns out we can. That will be $1.25 extra." Per eyelet? "No. Total." Amazing and the best buck twenty-five you'll ever spring for.
- Was a bit worried after first day's wear (bottom of foot was a bit sore) but ever since that short break in, they truly have worn like slippers. Another initial concern has also proven a non-problem. I had worried about breathability, but I surmise the length to which the leather upper extends wicks moisture from the rubber shoe bed. Bottom line, circulates well and no clamminess.
You will not go wrong with these boots. A true American (made) classic like a Winchester Model 70 or an N-Frame Smith and Wesson. Every man should own a pair.

These Maine Hunting Boots are perfect for everyday wear. They do fit a little larger than I had anticipated, but nothing a nice thick wool sock can't fix. Overall extremely happy with my new boots and definitely not my last pair of L.L. Bean boots being purchased.

I bought these boots as a last minute purchase for a hunt that I was going on; my old ones just were not making it. I wear 14EEEE shoes so getting a shoe to fit well is difficult to find. I tried these shoes on with some trepidation about buying a boot to do a hunt with only a couple of weeks before actually using them. They felt like I had been wearing them for years. They fit, were comfortable and I look forward to wearing them on the hunt.

Very comfortable boot. I usually wear an 11 but I ordered a 10 and there is a little room for a thick pair of socks.

Excellent quality as always. My only wish is that the laces provided had been longer. The feet fit perfectly, but the shafts are somewhat slender. I have small feet but my legs are not particularly thin, so in lacing up the boots, I found there was not enough lace to go all the way to the top. Luckily I had not yet thrown out my 40-year old pair of 12" boots, so just moved the laces over to the new pair. ( I had replaced the laces on the old boots recently).

I wore these boots for years as a warden. They aren't for rough country hiking, but great in the Maine woods, which is usually wet. Good for walks in the early morning when the grass is wet. I find them comfortable, I have a hard time finding boots that fit.

This is my third pair. I can't say enough about how comfortable and light these boots are. I believe they do come a little narrow. I don't normally wear a wide but in this particular boot, the wider width is just right. I have no intention of ever being without a pair of these "hunting shoes".

I have worn the LLBean hunting shoe since 1981 and still they are the only boot that I love and wear for all activities. Great boots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JamesIslandHunter Great looking boot!
I received my 10" Maine Hunting Boots last week and I immediately wore them around the house that night. Overall fit was very good with the suggested heavy rag wool socks. The fit at the very top of the leather portion of the boot was a little larger than I needed, but my bony legs may have something to do with that. Anyway, when I wear the boots hunting during the winter months with two pair of socks, I'm sure that I'll appreciate the extra room. It was raining here in Charleston yesterday so I wore them to work. They were very comfortable and felt like I had been wearing them for years. No worries about getting wet feet. Thanks L. L. Bean!
