My old pair of slip on boots, which I've had for several years, were finally giving up the ghost so I started looking around for a boot to replace them. I even ordered a pair from another source and had to return them because the size wasn't even close to correct and the quality was poor. I finally settled on these zip front boots from LL Bean and I couldn't be happier. The size was spot on and the quality is excellent and comparable to my old boots when they were new.
My only negative, if you can even call it that, is that I am not a fan of fleece lining. I would have preferred a smooth lining of some type. But I am sure these will last me a long time.

WAS BUYING THESE FOR MY HUSBAND AND FOLLOWING A VERY HELPFUL PHONE CALL TO U.S.A AND LOTS OF ADVICE REGARDING SIZING THE PERFECT BOOTS ARRIVED - EARLY TOO - CONSIDERING SHIPPED TO U.K.
READ ALL THE REVIEWS VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASE BECAUSE IT REALLY IS A PAIN TO RETURN THINGS WHAT WITH CUSTOMS AND EXCISE AND VAT ETC ETC. EVERYBODY SEEMED TO COMPLAIN THAT THE SHEEPSKIN LINING CAME OUT EVERY TIME THE BOOT WAS TAKEN OFF - WELL OF COURSE IT DOES ! HOW ELSE ARE YOU GOING TO GET SWEATY SHEEPSKIN TO AIR AND DRY AFTER WEARING BOOTS IF YOU CANNOT PULL OUT THE LINING - IT IS NO BIG DEAL TO PUSH IT BACK IN VERY SUCCESSFULLY. IT WORRIED ME WHEN I READ ALL THAT BUT IT MAKES COMMON SENSE SO IF IT IS PUTTING POSSIBLE PURCHASERS OFF - DON'T LET IT.
THE BOOTS ARE BRILLIANT. THANK YOU AGAIN L.L.BEAN AND LASTLY I SEE THEY ARE ACTUALLY MADE IN MAINE !!

I was looking for boots MADE IN AMERICA! and yours were made in Maine. Good start. I wanted front zip. Yours did. Sheep skin lined. Another plus. Great for spring weather between snow, mud and mud puddles. LOVE these boots. And YOUR customer service is EXCELLENT! THANKS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by KennyGK best pair I ever had
My wife bought these for me to keep my feet warm and dry while using our snowblower---also because she likes me very much. I really like them because i can stay outdoors during the snowy winter and not worry that my feet will get wet or cold. As a matter of fact, I don't worry about anything. I love llbean's forever guarantee!

Narrowed my search to the zip-up wool-lined boots and the wool-lined Mocs. I went with the zip-up wool-lined boots. Having read many reviews from bad to great-fitting, I decided to 'roll-the dice'. I wear a 7.5 D to an 8 D. After five months of looking on-line at the Bean boots, I called and talked to Customer Service. I was advised to go with the Men's 7 Narrow. I picked them up today 5 hours ago. My bet paid off! It is a perfect fit. I am wearing medium thickness WINTER socks. I do not zip them up all the way--the zipper will allow me to adjust the 'fit' depending on my sock thickness. They are snug to comfort, leaving plenty of wiggle-room for my toes as well as room for heel movement. This is my second pair. My first was a Women's 9 D in a green Moc. 15 years ago--that fit was perfect too. Just for your reference, (which was the key for me) a Women's 9 D is equivalent to a Men's 7 narrow. I hope this is helpful to those Men with smaller feet who are apprehensive about sizing-thru-the-mail. C'mon. Take the plunge in a movement celebrating one of the last American-made fashion icons--THE L.L. BEAN MAAAAIIIIIINE HUNTING SHOE. (This is what we called it and how we pronounced it in college 35 years ago!) The boots arrived as scheduled on the L.L. Bean tracking website. Thank You--Thank You, Customer Service.

Find the boots comfortable, however the lining does come out when you take your foot out. Putting a set of insoles solves this problem(used Profoot Workaday gel insoles) . I have a pair of LL Bean lace up boots but find these handy for when your running in and out of the house. So much faster to put on. Think they are GREAT!!!!!

Purchased these boots as they were one of the few things still made
in the USA and LL Bean. The comfort & fit were fine, however I would
recommend that the lining be secured during manufacture as it tends
to pull out when removing. I think that being a non-replaceable item
it should be secured or made to be replaceable. I've noticed other
comments on this problem and feel that fixing this item would
improve the boot 100%.

I just came in from shoveling snow (for about 1-1/2 hours), I wore athletic socks. My feet are very cold, but dry. And each time I remove the boot, the insulation comes out with my foot. The padding in the heel and sole are inadequate. There doesn't appear to be ANY shock absorption. I am truly disappointed in these.

These boots are warm and comfortable, wear well and are absolutely water tight. My husband puts them through quite a drill on our farm. And the best thing is they are made in the USA. A great value for a durable product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by gvalentine Much too small.
I bought these for my husband who was looking for a new pair of Bean boots that would be easier to get into now that he's getting up in years. Unfortunately, these weren't it, as he couldn't even get his feet inside as they are so narrow. I returned them right away. However, they do look very warm and comfortable!
