Have had three red chairs and two footstools for a few years now, but they are really about ready to be retired. Paint has faded, various wooden parts are rotten and falling off. They have always been stored in the winter, but on an open wooden deck in the summer. I would not recommend these unless you are putting them on a covered porch. So sad. :(.

This chair was exactly as I had hoped it would be - - comfortable, sturdy and aestheticaly pleasing. I purchased two in red and they were easy to assemble. I appreciate the uniqueness of the reclining feature and find these very versatile. Thanks, LL Bean!

We received two of these nice-looking chairs in 2006. We used them outside for the summer and stored them inside in the winter. Last week a visitor fell through the back of the chair (no harm to him) and when I looked that the chair, I saw that the wood was rotted. In fact, the soft wood that these are made of was rotted in both chairs. A picture is attached. Maybe these should be made of hard wood or not painted. Quite a disappointment from Bean's.

I had received an LL Bean Adirondack chair as a gift several years ago. One arm split and after contacting Customer Service this year, I received a replacement arm within 5 days - great service. I have purchased another chair and I love them so much, purchased another one. I put it together by myself in 30 minutes with no problems. I love the reclining angles and have already enjoyed several hours sitting in it on my deck. a wonderful addition to my outdoor space!

I bought an L.L. Bean Adirondack chair three years ago, and I'm so happy with it that I decided to get another. Knowing that the color (a sort of coral red) is no longer available, I opted for a contrasting dark blue--then worried that they wouldn't look compatible. After all, the first chair had been in the sun for three summers--and even "sat out" last winter. When the chair arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to realize that the first chair had held its color and finish so well that it looked new! The blue chair--an adjustable one this time--is easy to put together, if you have a patient helper. (I couldn't have done it on my own.) And it's amazingly comfortable. All in all, a good value!

I originally purchased these chairs about 10 years ago and loved them. From the sun and use, they've become worn out. Since we loved the look, comfort and the fact they fold so we can store during the winter, we ordered them again.

We were disappointed in these chairs from the first time opening the boxes. I ordered two of the natural wood and matching ottomans.
The wood was not sanded appropriately. It is splintery. Also not enough finish on them. I should have sent them back but thought that would be a hassle. After being outside there is black mold on them. They were covered in bad weather too. It's a lot of money to just throw them away, so we are going to try to bleach, sand and refinish them.

I am disappointed with the chair. Easy to put together, yes, however, they are flimsy. Every time you sit in it you can feel it wobble at the joints, as if the screws weren't tight enough (but they are). Also it is uncomfortable, even with the cushion. I have a below average male frame, but the chair seems small to me. And...the reclining feature doesn't work well. It will often come out of the its stops. The knobs that are intended to prevent the chair from folding work, but they fall right out. Overall it's a low-end adirondack chair. Given the quality I wish the price were a bit lower. $100 - $125 seems about right.

These aren't cheap. I thought I was paying good money for something that would last. But they didn't hold up to the LL Bean name. Within the first year, the back slats started to split vertically. As in several slats had cracks going up them. I put them away every winter, yet after about 6 years, there are several rotted spots around the screws, and you can no longer sit in one of the chairs because there is no way to tighten the screw without the wood breaking. I'm really disappointed.
