Rated 5 out of 5 by Stelyos i thought other reviews were exaggerating
i have 900 fill goose down jackets, and fleece jackets and "winter" coats, and i thought no way could a $80 jacket be enough for winter. BUT, yes it is! snow, 20 degrees and i didn't even realize it.... driving in winter with the driver window rolled down and my arm doesn't get cold. absolutely awesome! the quality is top notch.

Fits and looks great. Next I am getting the field jacket. You can not beat the products and service from LL Bean. What a great group of people to deal with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ClassicForever BEST JACKET EVER!
This jacket is a classic. I purchased two for Christmas
gifts I bought the cayenne color and the warden green
for 2 male family members. Both colors are beautiful.
However, if I were marketing the green one, I would
definitely not call it "warden green". It's not a good choice
for such a classic color. It hints of a penitentiary color. :).
I would call such a classic color "canoe green" or
My husband has bought these jackets for many years.
He presently owns two and loves them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DanieLinda Wonderful for quick in & out stops
My husband wanted a warm jacket that he could wear for quick in and out stops. He didn't want the bulk of a winter jacket just to get in a warm car and then a quick run into his stop. WI winters can be cold for that walk between car and store. It is warm and is great to keep out that chilly wind that sometimes is colder then the cold itself. He usually wears a large but we sized up to allow layering if needed.

The catalog state that this jacket will keep you warm down to zero degrees.
I was freezing in this jacket at 40 degrees.
I had to return this product.

Bought this last year for my husband needed a light/not bulky and warm jacket and this fits the bill. Put to good use - perfect for shoveling snow - needed warmth with flexibility. Good Deal! He looks good in it too - got him the dark green :-)

Rated 3 out of 5 by PDinCT Same Issues as Others
I am glad I read the reviews on this jacket. I too have purchased this jacket in the past... I have 2. The first, about 20 years ago and still going, was by far the best of the 3 I now own. The 'large' size / tall fit perfectly. I then tried another and it too fit ok. This one, I decided to buy XL because of the reviews and I am glad I did....they were correct. I am the same size as 20 years ago, but the Large would not have fit good. Outside shell is also not as nice, not as soft... 'crinkly' sounding. Oh, and the inside pocket has become smaller and not deep like it used to be! Disappointed these are no longer made in USA too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by AncientAngler Better than expected for the price.
Bought this at the LL Bean store, where an associate told me the jacket's ability to repel water was beyond what was claimed. So far, that's true. It's also warmer than I expected. I'm 6'2" and the jacket extends 4 to 6 inches below my belt, which is perfect.
But wait - there's a feature not mentioned by LL Bean: The jacket comes with a built-in magic trick. Even with the zipper fully closed (per the laundering instructions), the garment turns itself completely inside out in the washing machine. We haven't figured out yet how it happens.
