Rated 1 out of 5 by OldMillMicro Worst walking shoe
These shoes looked great, and the online description was compelling. In reality the shoes lacked arch support, pinched my feet, and caused heel bruising - not a good combination for walking shoes. I could not tolerate the shoes for even a day of casual use, and I have a long history of worldwide volksmarching (550 walks/11000 kilometers). Unless style is your sole criteria stay away from these shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by windoctor Rockports great everyday shoe.
I think Rockports are a great everyday shoe. I wear them all the time and have been for years. I find them very comfortable especially after the initial break in period. I get two pairs, one in Nubuck and the other black. I've only found two issues with them over the years. As they get really old it seems for some reason the sole gets harder and then becomes slick which can make they slippery. But I'm talking here really old. This is the point where they are past every day use and I'm now using them for "outdoor gardening use". The other issue had to do with the laces on my black pairs. Apparently made different from the laces for Nubucks, I found they would not stay tied and I would have to double-knot them. But this problem may be gone now as the new pair I just started wearing seems to be fine. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that asked. I find they last for a really long time. I replace each pair about once a year and considering I wear them just about evryday, I think thats pretty good.

Quality of Rockport Walker is trusted. We knew from experience that this style would please. Like LL Bean service, Rockport Country Walkers are always dependable and give much satisfaction. Great fit and good-looking, as expected. Thanks again, LL Bean--we come to you because we need to purchase goods that will meet high standards at a comparably fair price.

Out of the box comfort. This is one of the few shoes that look good in the office or the back yard.

I purchased these shoes because I had a pair of Rockport shoes that were very good a few years back.
I probably should have returned the shoes but after replacing the insoles they are fine.
I would have expected a more padded and comfortable insole would be provided with a $100 pair of shoes but I was sorely mistaken. The insoles provided are extremely thin and the foot bed of the shoe is very hard. This caused pain in my upper thighs after a few days of walking in them.
In the interest of time (I needed them for a trip) I tried replacing the insoles with Dr. Schol's Active inserts for athletes. This solved the problem and the shoes are now extremely comfortable.
I will try to get Rockport to reimburse me for the cost of the inserts ($26.00). If they do not I will most likely refrain from purchasing shoes from them again. It should also be noted that this is the first negative review I have ever written. I can't say enough good things about LL Bean. My ill feelings are toward Rockport.

This is the third pair I have purchased from Bean, my favorite shoe for traveling. As always, Bean's customer service is second to none. I saved $20 in this purchase.

Very comfortable shoes. If you spend a lot of time on your feet, you owe it to yourself to give these shoes a try. I have purchased 4 pairs of these over the last 3 years.
